أعلن النجم الإسباني كارلوس ألكاراز غيابه رسمياً عن نهائي كأس ديفيز بعد إصابة عضلية تعرّض لها في أوتار الفخذ الخلفية في الساق اليمنى. الفحوصات الطبية التي خضع لها اللاعب أظهرت وجود وذمة عضلية نتيجة إجهاد قوي، ما جعل الجهاز الطبي يوصي بشكل واضح بعدم المخاطرة حفاظاً على سلامته ومنعاً لتطور الإصابة إلى تمزّق قد يبعده لفترة أطول.

ألكاراز شعر بآلام واضحة خلال مشاركته في نهائي بطولة الـATP Finals أمام يانيك سينر، إذ ظهر عليه الانزعاج في التحركات الجانبية، قبل أن تتأكد الإصابة لاحقاً بالرنين المغناطيسي. ورغم محاولات الفريق التدريبي وضع برنامج استشفاء سريع، إلا أن الوقت لم يكن كافياً للوصول إلى جاهزية تنافسية تضمن أداءً طبيعياً في بطولة شديدة الضغط مثل كأس ديفيز.

وفي بيانه، عبّر ألكاراز عن حزنه الشديد لعدم قدرته على تمثيل إسبانيا، مؤكّداً أنه كان يتطلع لإنهاء الموسم مع المنتخب، لكنه “لا يريد اتخاذ قرار متهور قد يضر بمسيرته على المدى الطويل”.

غيابه يشكّل ضربة قوية للمنتخب الإسباني الذي كان يعوّل على وجوده لاعباً أساسياً، إلا أن القرار يبدو منطقياً في ظل طبيعة الإصابة وحاجة اللاعب للراحة قبل بدء موسم 2026.

Despite the coaching team’s attempts to establish a rapid recovery program, time was not sufficient to reach a competitive readiness that would ensure normal performance in a highly demanding tournament like the Davis Cup.

In his statement, Alcaraz expressed his deep sadness at not being able to represent Spain, confirming that he had been looking forward to finishing the season with the national team, but he “does not want to make a reckless decision that could harm his career in the long run.”

His absence represents a significant blow to the Spanish team, which was counting on him as a key player, yet the decision seems reasonable given the nature of the injury and the player’s need for rest before the start of the 2026 season.
