في سلسلة من الجرائم الغريبة التي أثارت صدمة السلطات والشارع في إسطنبول، تمكن لص مجهول من استهداف بنك 38 مرة خلال سبعة أشهر، مستغلًا ثغرة أمنية في أجهزة الصرّاف الآلي وساعدته أدوات بسيطة على سحب الأموال دون أن يكتشفه أحد في البداية.
وكشف تحقيق أمني شامل أن المتهم استهدف 15 ماكينة ATM في أحياء مختلفة من المدينة بين 21 أبريل و18 نوفمبر، مستوليًا على نحو 199 ألفًا و760 ليرة تركية. وأظهرت كاميرات المراقبة الرجل وهو يخفي ملامحه بقناع طبي وخوذة دراجة نارية، مستخدمًا مفك براغي وأدوات صغيرة لفتح منافذ محددة وسحب الأموال من داخلها.
وتكررت العمليات بنفس الطريقة في كل المواقع، ما دفع وحدة مكافحة السرقة إلى فتح تحقيق موسع انتهى بالقبض على الجاني الذي تسبب في حالة من الذعر بين موظفي البنك والعملاء.
وفيما أحيل اللص البالغ من العمر 36 عاما إلى النيابة التي أمرت بحبسه احتياطيا، تعهدت السلطات باتخاذ إجراءات صارمة لضمان عدم تكرار هذه الحوادث، بينما يتابع المواطنون ووسائل الإعلام تفاصيل التحقيق بترقب شديد، مستغربين كيف تمكن شخص واحد من استغلال الثغرة بهذه الطريقة المدهشة.
In a series of bizarre crimes that shocked authorities and the public in Istanbul, an unknown thief managed to target a bank 38 times over seven months, exploiting a security flaw in the ATM machines and using simple tools to withdraw money without being detected at first.
A comprehensive security investigation revealed that the suspect targeted 15 ATMs in different neighborhoods of the city between April 21 and November 18, seizing approximately 199,760 Turkish lira. Surveillance cameras showed the man concealing his features with a medical mask and a motorcycle helmet, using a screwdriver and small tools to open specific compartments and withdraw money from within.
The operations were repeated in the same manner at all locations, prompting the theft prevention unit to launch an extensive investigation that ultimately led to the arrest of the perpetrator, who caused a state of panic among bank employees and customers.
While the 36-year-old thief was referred to the prosecutor’s office, which ordered his detention, authorities pledged to take strict measures to ensure that such incidents do not recur, as citizens and media closely follow the details of the investigation, astonished at how a single person managed to exploit the flaw in such an astonishing way.
