كنت مؤخراً في حديث شيق مع دبلوماسي عربي مخضرم جمعتني فيه إحدى ليالي جدة الجميلة ونسائمها العليلة في هذا الوقت من السنة. وتطرقنا إلى مواضيع الساعة المختلفة وكانت أبرزها التحوّلات المثيرة للجدل في خطابات ومواقف الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب. لفت نظري في تعليق الدبلوماسي المخضرم شرحه اللطيف عن النظام العالمي الذي ارتضته القوى المنتصرة في الحرب العالمية الثانية وذلك بإقامة منظمات ومؤسسات تتم من خلالها إدارة شؤون العالم، مثل الأمم المتحدة وصندوق النقد الدولي والبنك الدولي ومنظمة التجارة الدولية ومؤسسات التصنيف الائتماني وغيرها. وكانت هذه الكيانات المستحدثة هي أشبه بـ«أزارير» التحكم في الاقتصاد وبالتالي سياسات العالم، وكانت للولايات المتحدة الأمريكية اليد العليا في «اللعب بهذه الأزارير». دول تفتقر، دول تزدهر، دول تعاقب، دول تكافأ، دول في حالة حصار، دول في حالة عمار. إنها «الزراير» وقوتها، ويا لها من قوة!
ولكن ما يقوم به دونالد ترمب اليوم هو اللعب في «الزراير» نفسها وتحطيم المنظومة بأكملها وتفتيت كافة النظم والقوانين التي قامت عليها تلك الكيانات.
أثار خطاب الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب في منتدى «دافوس» الاقتصادي لعام 2026 جدلاً واسعاً، حيث اتّسم بنبرة هجومية وتصريحات اعتُبرت «خطيرة» لكونها تمس استقرار تحالفات دولية وسياسات بيئية واقتصادية عالمية.
ملف «غرينلاند» والسيادة الدنماركية
أعاد ترمب طرح فكرة ضم جزيرة غرينلاند إلى الولايات المتحدة، ولكن بنبرة أكثر حدة هذه المرة لأنه استخدم تهديد التلويح بالقوة، رغم قوله إنه «لن يستخدم القوة» حالياً، إلا أنه أضاف جملة أثارت قلق الأوروبيين: «إذا استخدمنا القوة فلن يوقفنا أحد، لكنني لا أريد فعل ذلك».
بالإضافة إلى اتهام الحلفاء التاريخيين بالجحود، فلقد وصف الدنمارك بـ«ناكرة للجميل»، مدعياً أن الولايات المتحدة أنقذتها في الحرب العالمية الثانية وكان يجب ألا تعيد لها غرينلاند حينها، واصفاً ذلك القرار بـ«الغباء التاريخي».
وجاء إصراره على إجراء المفاوضات الفورية مثيراً للجدل، فلقد دعا إلى مفاوضات عاجلة لضم الجزيرة لأسباب تتعلق بـ«الأمن القومي» وبناء منظومة دفاعية (القبة الذهبية).
بالإضافة إلى التهديد بتفكيك التحالفات (الناتو وأوروبا)، وجّه ترمب رسائل شديدة اللهجة لحلفائه التقليديين. وأيضاً أصر على رفع الإنفاق الدفاعي وطالب دول الناتو بزيادة إنفاقها العسكري إلى 5% من الناتج المحلي الإجمالي (بدلاً من 2%)، وهو ما يفوق قدرة معظم الميزانيات الأوروبية. وواصل انتقاده الحاد للهوية الأوروبية، وصرح بأن بعض المناطق في أوروبا «لم تعد قابلة للتعرف عليها» بسبب سياسات الهجرة، معتبراً أن القارة لا تسير في الاتجاه الصحيح.
وركّز على التبعية الاقتصادية للقارة العجوز وادعى أن الاقتصادات الأوروبية كانت لتتدمر لولا الحماية الأمريكية، مهدّداً بفرض رسوم جمركية على دول عارضت خططه.
«الهجوم الشامل» على السياسات البيئية
وصف ترمب التحوّل نحو الطاقة الخضراء بـ«أكبر عملية احتيال في التاريخ» (The Green Scam).
ولم تفته السخرية من طاقة الرياح، فهاجم توربينات الرياح في أوروبا ووصفها بأنها «خاسرة» وتدمر المناظر الطبيعية.
وأعلن بقوة عن العودة للوقود الأحفوري، فأعلن حالة «طوارئ طاقة» في أمريكا لفتح الباب على مصراعيه لاستخراج النفط والغاز («الذهب السائل»)، وهو ما ينسف جهود مكافحة التغير المناخي العالمية.
تكمن خطورة الخطاب في تحوله من «الدبلوماسية» إلى «لغة القوة» والابتزاز الاقتصادي، وضربه بعرض الحائط الاتفاقيات البيئية الدولية، مما يعزز حالة الاستقطاب العالمي. إنه اللعب في «الزراير»!
Recently, I had an interesting conversation with a seasoned Arab diplomat during one of the beautiful nights in Jeddah, with its gentle breezes at this time of year. We touched on various current topics, the most prominent of which were the controversial transformations in the speeches and positions of U.S. President Donald Trump. What caught my attention in the seasoned diplomat’s comment was his gentle explanation of the global system established by the victorious powers in World War II, which involved the creation of organizations and institutions through which world affairs are managed, such as the United Nations, the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, the World Trade Organization, and credit rating agencies, among others. These newly established entities were akin to “buttons” controlling the economy and, consequently, the policies of the world, with the United States having the upper hand in “playing with these buttons.” Some countries lack resources, some thrive, some are punished, some are rewarded, some are under siege, and some are flourishing. These are the “buttons” and their power, and what a power it is!
However, what Donald Trump is doing today is playing with the very “buttons” and dismantling the entire system, fragmenting all the systems and laws upon which those entities were built.
President Donald Trump’s speech at the 2026 Davos Economic Forum sparked widespread controversy, as it was characterized by an aggressive tone and statements deemed “dangerous” for their implications on the stability of international alliances and global environmental and economic policies.
The “Greenland” File and Danish Sovereignty
Trump reiterated the idea of annexing Greenland to the United States, but with a sharper tone this time as he used the threat of force, despite stating that he “would not use force” at present; he added a sentence that raised concerns among Europeans: “If we use force, no one can stop us, but I don’t want to do that.”
In addition to accusing historical allies of ingratitude, he described Denmark as “ungrateful,” claiming that the United States saved it during World War II and that it should not have returned Greenland to it at that time, calling that decision “historical stupidity.”
His insistence on immediate negotiations was also controversial, as he called for urgent talks to annex the island for reasons related to “national security” and building a defensive system (the Iron Dome).
Along with the threat of dismantling alliances (NATO and Europe), Trump directed strong messages to his traditional allies. He also insisted on increasing defense spending and demanded NATO countries to raise their military spending to 5% of GDP (instead of 2%), which exceeds the capacity of most European budgets. He continued his sharp criticism of European identity, stating that some areas in Europe “are no longer recognizable” due to immigration policies, considering that the continent is not heading in the right direction.
He focused on the economic dependency of the old continent and claimed that European economies would have been destroyed without American protection, threatening to impose tariffs on countries that opposed his plans.
The “Comprehensive Attack” on Environmental Policies
Trump described the shift towards green energy as “the biggest scam in history” (The Green Scam).
He did not miss the opportunity to mock wind energy, attacking wind turbines in Europe, describing them as “losing” and ruining the landscapes.
He strongly announced a return to fossil fuels, declaring a “Energy Emergency” in America to open the floodgates for oil and gas extraction (“liquid gold”), which undermines global efforts to combat climate change.
The danger of the speech lies in its shift from “diplomacy” to “the language of power” and economic blackmail, disregarding international environmental agreements, which enhances the state of global polarization. It is playing with the “buttons”!
