أمريكا تدفع بطائرات عسكرية إلى غرينلاند – أخبار السعودية – كورا نيو
أعلنت قيادة دفاع الفضاء الجوي الأمريكية الشمالية («نوراد») أن طائرات عسكرية ستصل إلى غرينلاند للمشاركة في «نشاطات مقررة منذ زمن طويل»، وذلك في ظل توتر بشأن سعي الرئيس دونالد ترمب للسيطرة على الجزيرة التابعة لغرينلاند.
وقالت القيادة الأمريكية الكندية المشتركة «تمّ تنسيق هذا النشاط مع مملكة الدنمارك، وتعمل كل القوات بموجب التصاريح الدبلوماسية اللازمة. تمّ إبلاغ حكومة غرينلاند كذلك بالنشاطات المقررة».
ولم يحدد البيان طبيعة النشاط، لكنه أشار إلى أن هدفه تعزيز «التعاون الدفاعي بين الولايات المتحدة وكندا، إضافة إلى مملكة الدنمارك».
وأوضحت القيادة المشتركة أنها «تقوم دوريا بعمليات متواصلة ومتباعدة دفاعا عن أميركا الشمالية».
ويثير ترمب منذ فترة قلق الدنمارك وغرينلاند ودول حليفة، بتأكيده حاجة الولايات المتحدة للاستحواذ على جزيرة غرينلاند التي تتمتع بحكم ذاتي.
وهدد الرئيس الأميركي ثماني دول أوروبية تعارض ذلك، بفرض رسوم تجارية إضافية عليها، بعدما أرسلت بعثة عسكرية إلى الجزيرة.
The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) announced that military aircraft will arrive in Greenland to participate in “long-planned activities,” amid tensions over President Donald Trump’s desire to take control of the territory belonging to Greenland.
The North American Joint Task Force stated, “This activity has been coordinated with the Kingdom of Denmark, and all forces are operating under the necessary diplomatic clearances. The Government of Greenland has also been informed of the planned activities.”
The statement did not specify the nature of the activity, but it indicated that its goal is to enhance “defense cooperation between the United States and Canada, in addition to the Kingdom of Denmark.”
The Joint Task Force clarified that it “conducts ongoing and periodic operations in defense of North America.”
Trump has been raising concerns for Denmark, Greenland, and allied countries by asserting the need for the United States to acquire the self-governing territory of Greenland.
The U.S. president threatened eight European countries that oppose this by imposing additional trade tariffs on them, after sending a military mission to the island.
