إطارات السيارات ليست مجرد قطع مطاطية، بل هي أحد أهم مكونات المركبة وأكثرها تأثيراً على السلامة وراحة القيادة، وهي نقطة أمان قيادة السيارة، تتحمل كامل وزنها وتتحكم في قوة تحركها ووقوفها وانتظام سيرها على الطريق. هي خط الدفاع الأول لسلامة قائد وراكبي السيارة؛ لذلك دائماً ما تنصح إدارة المرور والمختصون بالسلامة المرورية، بضرورة تفقّد الإطارات في كل وقت، سواء بفحص ضغط هوائها أو تبديلها عند الحاجة، والأهم عدم استخدام النوع السيئ منها أو اللجوء إلى الإطارات القديمة المستعملة، فاكثر الحوادث أسباباً هي الإطارات، إذ أشارت دراسة أمريكية إلى أن 9% من الحوادث كانت بسبب مشكلات الإطارات، وتسببت في وقوع 2.1 مليون حادثة ووفاة 200 سنوياً، فيما إشارات بعض الدراسات المرورية بالمملكة، إلى أن 75% من حوادث انفجار الإطارات سببها إطارات تالفة أو منتهية الصلاحية، موضحة، أن خلل الإطارات يتسبب في فقدان السيطرة على المركبة، وضعف القدرة على التوقف، وارتفاع خطر الحوادث، واحتمال انفجار الإطار أثناء القيادة.

ومع دخول موسم الأمطار وازدياد معدلات هطولها على عدد من مناطق المملكة، تبرز سلامة الإطارات واحداً من أهم عناصر الأمان أثناء القيادة، إذ تُعد الإطارات نقطة التلامس بين المركبة والطريق، وأي خلل في جودتها يؤدي إلى حوادث خطيرة، خصوصاً على الطرق المبللة.

التوقّف في الطرقات

«عكاظ»، جالت على مراكز بيع الإطارات واستبدالها، والتقت بداية مع قائدي السيارات، إذ تحدث طلال الحارثي، عن تجربة له، وقعت في إطارات رديئة سببت له معاناة في البناشر والتوقف في الطرقات؛ لذا أنصح بالتحقق من شهادات الجودة والمطابقة وعدم الاعتماد على السعر فقط، فيما يضيف عبدالله الأسمري: أنا حريص في اختيار الإطارات السليمة والمطابقة للمواصفات، ومتابعة الفحص الدوري للإطارات. ويقول عادل الطويرقي: أحرص دائماً على تفقد ضغط الإطار وسلامته خشية المواقف الحرجة والحوادث الصعبة.

ويسرد سلطان الشريف، موقفاً تعرض له بسبب إطارات سيارته قائلاً: ذات مرة أثناء هطول الأمطار تعرضت لانزلاق مفاجئ رغم قيادتي بسرعة معتدلة، وبعد الفحص تبيّن أن الإطارات منتهية الصلاحية، ومن يومها أصبحت أتحقق من حالتها.

أما حسين سعيد، وهو سائق شاحنة نقل ثقيل، فيروي قصة مختلفة، إذ انفجر أحد الإطارات أثناء سيره على طريق سريع، كاد أن يتسبب في حادثة جسيمة. ويوضح: الإطار كان مستعملاً وتم شراؤه بسعر أقل لتقليل التكاليف، لكن الخسارة كادت تكون أكبر من التوفير. ويؤكد أن بعض سائقي الشاحنات يلجؤون للإطارات المستعملة؛ بسبب ارتفاع أسعار الجديدة.

بيع المستعمل بطلب الزبون

ويكشف محمد – أحد العاملين في محلات بناشر السيارات – أن الطلب على الإطارات المستعملة لا يزال موجوداً، خصوصاً من قبل سائقي الشاحنات والمركبات القديمة. ويقول: نحن نبيع المستعمل بناءً على طلب الزبون، وهناك من يبحث عن الأرخص دون النظر للمخاطر. وأضاف: بعض الإطارات المستعملة تكون واردة من مركبات تعرضت لحوادث أو تم استبدالها قبل انتهاء عمرها الافتراضي.

وحول نظامية بيع الإطارات المستعملة، يشير بعض الباعة من أصحاب البناشر، أنهم يبيعون الصالح منها ويساعدهم في ذلك، أن الرقابة قد لا تكون كافية في بعض المواقع وهذا يساعدهم في البيع.

المهتم بالسلامة المرورية عادل محمد عبده، يؤكد على ضرورة فحص سلامة الإطارات خصوصاً من ناحية الدعسة (النقشة)، ويقول: لا بد أن تكون (النقشة) مناسبة للأجواء الماطرة بحيث تكون بارزة وواضحة ومصممة لها، فالإطارات تختلف في تصميمها وطرق استخدامها من بري إلى جبلي إلى ساحلي وحتى السرعة، والأهم هو فحص ضغط الهواء كونه يلعب دوراً مهماً في الطريق سواء كان مبللاً بالمياه أو غير مبلل، فيجب المحافظة على ضغط الهواء حسب المواصفات لكل مركبة؛ لأن كل إطار له مقاس وضغط معين.

مشيراً إلى أن هيئة المواصفات تقوم بدور كبير وجبار في متابعة الإطارات ومصدرها ومحاربة الإطارات المقلدة والمغشوشة، ومنعها من دخولها السوق وفرض عقوبات صارمة على العاملين في هذا المجال في حال ضبطوا مخالفين لتعليمات بيع الإطارات، موضحاً أن أماكن التخزين تلعب دوراً في سلامة الإطارات.

ويضيف احد المهتمين بالسلامة المرورية ناصر محمد، لا ننكر أن الظروف قد تتحكم أحياناً في السائقين، خصوصاً إذا تعرض لتلف في أحد إطارات السيارة أثناء قيادته على خط طويل وبعيداً عن العمران فقد يضطر إلى استخدام إطار مستعمل، وهنا لا بد من الحذر أثناء القيادة، وأن يستبدل ذلك الإطار حال وصوله إلى محل لبيع الإطارات.

ختاماً: تبقى سلامة الإطارات مسؤولية مشتركة بين السائق، والبائع، والجهات الرقابية، فالتهاون في هذا الجانب قد يحوّل رحلة عادية إلى خطر يهدد الأرواح.

حيل وخدع

عند الفحص الدوري

يشير قائد مركبة محمد الغامدي، إلى نقطة مهمة تقع عادة عند مراكز الفحص الدوري للمركبات، إذ يستغل بعد ضعاف الأنفس حاجة قائدي السيارات لفحص مركباتهم لكنهم يصطدمون بضرورة تغيير إطارات مركباتهم، وهنا يتلقفونهم باستبدالها بأخرى لفترة مقابل مبلغ مالي، ويعيدون الإطارات إلى وضعها حال اجتياز المركبة الفحص، وهذه من الأشياء الخطرة على قائد السيارة، فتهاونه هنا يكلفه ومن معه حياتهم وحياة آخرين.

البائع محمد علي أوضح، أن الإطارات الجيدة تحمل علامات وتواريخ صلاحية؛ لضمانها من التلف، وتختلف من نوع لآخر، ومن مركبة صغيرة إلى مركبة كبيرة للشحن والنقل، مؤكداً أنه يمنع بيع الإطارات المستعملة، ويتم التخلص منها فور الانتهاء من الاستبدال للعميل بالإطارات الجديدة.

Air Pressure is a Disaster

Car tires are not just rubber pieces; they are one of the most important components of the vehicle and significantly affect safety and driving comfort. They are the point of contact between the vehicle and the road, bearing its entire weight and controlling its movement, stopping power, and smooth operation on the road. They are the first line of defense for the safety of the driver and passengers; therefore, traffic authorities and safety experts always advise checking tires at all times, whether by inspecting their air pressure or replacing them when necessary. Most importantly, one should not use poor-quality tires or resort to old, used tires, as tires are among the leading causes of accidents. An American study indicated that 9% of accidents were due to tire issues, resulting in 2.1 million incidents and 200 deaths annually. Some traffic studies in the Kingdom indicate that 75% of tire blowout accidents are caused by damaged or expired tires, explaining that tire defects can lead to loss of vehicle control, reduced stopping ability, increased accident risk, and the possibility of tire blowouts while driving.

With the onset of the rainy season and increased rainfall in several regions of the Kingdom, tire safety emerges as one of the most critical safety elements while driving, as tires are the point of contact between the vehicle and the road, and any defect in their quality can lead to serious accidents, especially on wet roads.

Stopping on the Roads

“Okaz” visited tire sales and replacement centers and initially spoke with drivers. Talal Al-Harithi shared his experience with poor-quality tires that caused him trouble with flat tires and stopping on the roads; he advises checking quality and compliance certificates and not relying solely on price. Abdullah Al-Asmari adds: I am keen on choosing sound tires that meet specifications and regularly monitoring tire inspections. Adel Al-Tuwairqi states: I always make sure to check tire pressure and safety to avoid critical situations and difficult accidents.

Sultan Al-Sharif recounts an incident he faced due to his car tires, saying: Once, during rainfall, I experienced a sudden skid despite driving at a moderate speed, and upon inspection, it turned out that the tires were expired. Since then, I have been checking their condition.

Hussein Saeed, a heavy truck driver, shares a different story, as one of his tires exploded while driving on a highway, nearly causing a serious accident. He explains: The tire was used and purchased at a lower price to reduce costs, but the loss could have been greater than the savings. He confirms that some truck drivers resort to used tires due to the high prices of new ones.

Selling Used Tires at Customer Request

Mohammed, an employee at a tire shop, reveals that the demand for used tires still exists, especially from truck drivers and owners of older vehicles. He says: We sell used tires based on customer requests, and some look for the cheapest options without considering the risks. He adds: Some used tires come from vehicles that have been in accidents or were replaced before reaching the end of their lifespan.

Regarding the legality of selling used tires, some shop owners indicate that they sell the usable ones, helped by the fact that oversight may not be sufficient in some locations, which aids their sales.

Traffic safety advocate Adel Mohammed Abdu emphasizes the necessity of checking tire safety, especially regarding tread (pattern), stating: The tread must be suitable for rainy conditions, being prominent and designed for it. Tires differ in design and usage from off-road to mountainous to coastal and even speed, and most importantly, checking air pressure is crucial as it plays an important role on the road, whether wet or dry. Air pressure must be maintained according to specifications for each vehicle, as each tire has a specific size and pressure.

He points out that the Standards Authority plays a significant role in monitoring tires and their sources, combating counterfeit and substandard tires, preventing them from entering the market, and imposing strict penalties on those who violate tire sales regulations, explaining that storage conditions also play a role in tire safety.

Another traffic safety advocate, Nasser Mohammed, adds that we cannot deny that circumstances may sometimes control drivers, especially if they experience a tire failure while driving on a long stretch away from urban areas, leading them to use a used tire. Here, caution is essential while driving, and that tire should be replaced upon reaching a tire sales shop.

In conclusion: Tire safety remains a shared responsibility among the driver, the seller, and regulatory authorities. Negligence in this area can turn an ordinary trip into a danger that threatens lives.

Tricks and Deceptions

During Periodic Inspections

Vehicle driver Mohammed Al-Ghamdi points out an important issue that usually occurs at periodic vehicle inspection centers, where some unscrupulous individuals exploit drivers’ need to inspect their vehicles but encounter the necessity of changing their tires. Here, they take advantage of them by replacing them with others temporarily for a fee, returning the tires to their original state once the vehicle passes inspection. This is a dangerous practice for the driver, as negligence here can cost them and their passengers their lives and the lives of others.

Seller Mohammed Ali clarified that good tires carry labels and expiration dates to ensure they are not damaged, varying from type to type and from small vehicles to large transport vehicles, emphasizing that the sale of used tires is prohibited, and they are disposed of immediately after replacing them with new tires for the customer.
