إعصار «فونغ وونغ» يجتاح الفلبين ويشرد مئات الآلاف – أخبار السعودية – كورا نيو

أجبرت السلطات الفلبينية أكثر من 900 ألف شخص على مغادرة منازلهم في جزيرة لوزون الرئيسية، مع اجتياح الإعصار فونغ وونغ الذي ضرب البلاد برياح عاتية وأمطار غزيرة، متسبباً في شلل شبه كامل للحياة العامة.

وأعلنت هيئة الأرصاد الجوية الفلبينية أن الإعصار المعروف محلياً باسم «أوان» يتجه نحو اليابسة في إقليم أورورا، وسط مخاوف من تكرار مشاهد الدمار التي خلفها إعصار «كالمايجي» قبل أيام، والذي أودى بحياة أكثر من 224 شخصاً في الفلبين وخمسة في فيتنام.

وأصدرت الحكومة الفلبينية تحذيرات من المستوى الخامس (وهو الأعلى) في مناطق عدة من لوزون، شملت كاتاندوانيس وكامارينس سور وأورورا، بينما رُفعت التحذيرات إلى المستوى الثالث في العاصمة مانيلا والأقاليم المجاورة.

من جانبه، شدّد وزير الدفاع جيلبرتو تيودورو على ضرورة التزام السكان بأوامر الإخلاء، مؤكداً أن تجاهلها يُعد «مخالفة خطيرة قد تعرّض الأرواح للخطر»، كما أعلن الجيش الفلبيني إعادة نشر نحو ألفي جندي لدعم عمليات الإغاثة وتقديم المساعدات الإنسانية.

وفي ظل العاصفة، ألغت هيئة الطيران المدني نحو 400 رحلة محلية ودولية، فيما أغلقت المدارس والإدارات العامة في عدد من الأقاليم حتى إشعار آخر.

وتخشى السلطات من أن يؤدي الإعصار إلى انهيارات أرضية وفيضانات جديدة، مع توقع استمرار هطول الأمطار الغزيرة خلال الأيام القادمة.

The Philippine authorities have forced more than 900,000 people to leave their homes on the main island of Luzon, as Typhoon Fung Wong hit the country with strong winds and heavy rain, causing near-total paralysis of public life.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration announced that the typhoon, locally known as “Owan,” is heading towards land in Aurora province, amid fears of a repeat of the destruction caused by Typhoon “Calmayeji” just days ago, which claimed the lives of more than 224 people in the Philippines and five in Vietnam.

The Philippine government issued level five warnings (the highest) in several areas of Luzon, including Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, and Aurora, while warnings were raised to level three in the capital Manila and neighboring regions.

For his part, Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro emphasized the need for residents to comply with evacuation orders, stressing that ignoring them is considered “a serious violation that could endanger lives.” He also announced the redeployment of about 2,000 soldiers to support relief operations and provide humanitarian assistance.

Amid the storm, the Civil Aviation Authority canceled about 400 domestic and international flights, while schools and public offices in several regions were closed until further notice.

Authorities fear that the typhoon could lead to new landslides and flooding, with heavy rainfall expected to continue in the coming days.
