اتهم الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، النائبة الديمقراطية عن ولاية مينيسوتا إلهان عمر بارتكاب جرائم مالية وسياسية، وطالب بفتح تحقيق معها على خلفية ارتفاع ثروتها الصافية إلى ملايين الدولارات منذ دخولها الكونغرس عام 2019.
ثروتها تجاوزت 30 مليون دولار
وقال ترمب في منشور على منصة «تروث سوشيال»، أمس (الجمعة)، إن ثروة عمر تجاوزت 30 مليون دولار، معتبراً أنه لا يمكن قانونياً جمع مثل هذه الثروة من راتب سياسي، مطالباً ببدء التحقيق فوراً.
وتُعد إلهان المولودة في الصومال والحاصلة على الجنسية الأمريكية، من أبرز الأصوات الديمقراطية في مجلس النواب، وقد مثّلت الدائرة الخامسة في مينيابوليس منذ عام 2019.
وباتت خلال الفترة الماضية، هدفاً متكرراً لانتقادات ترمب، الذي دعا في وقت سابق إلى سجنها أو ترحيلها على خلفية مزاعم تتعلق بعمليات احتيال واسعة ذات صلة بجاليات صومالية في ولايتها، من دون تقديم أدلة مباشرة تربطها بتلك القضايا.
ويستند تقدير ثروة عمر إلى إفصاحاتها المالية الرسمية، إذ أظهرت وثائق قُدِّمت في مايو 2025 امتلاك زوجها، المستشار السياسي تيم مينت، أصولاً كبيرة بينها شركة نبيذ تُقدَّر قيمتها بين مليون وخمسة ملايين دولار، وشركة استثمارية تتراوح قيمتها بين 5 ملايين و25 مليون دولار.
مراجعة إفصاحات إلهان
وبناءً على هذه التقديرات، تتراوح الثروة الصافية للزوجين بين 6 ملايين و30 مليون دولار، بعد خصم التزامات مثل ديون القروض الدراسية الخاصة بإلهان عمر. وتشير الإفصاحات إلى أن الجزء الأكبر من الثروة يعود لأصول الزوج، فيما تبقى أصول عمر الشخصية محدودة نسبياً.
وأعلنت لجنة الرقابة في مجلس النواب أنها بدأت مراجعة إفصاحات إلهان عمر المالية.
وقال رئيس اللجنة، النائب الجمهوري جيمس كومر، إن اللجنة «ستحصل على إجابات، سواء عبر لجنة الأخلاقيات أو لجنة الرقابة».
ويأتي الجدل في وقت تحقق فيه السلطات الفدرالية في فضيحة احتيال واسعة في ولاية مينيسوتا، قدّرت النيابة العامة كلفتها بما قد يتجاوز 9 مليارات دولار. وتُعد القضية Feeding Our Future أبرز هذه الملفات، إذ تتعلق بمخطط خلال جائحة كورونا لتقديم مطالبات وهمية أو مبالغ فيها لبرامج تغذية الأطفال، وتحويل ما بين 250 و300 مليون دولار من الأموال الفدرالية.

Her wealth exceeded $30 million
Trump stated in a post on the “Truth Social” platform yesterday (Friday) that Omar’s wealth has surpassed $30 million, arguing that it is legally impossible to accumulate such wealth from a political salary, and calling for an immediate investigation.
Ilhan, who was born in Somalia and holds U.S. citizenship, is one of the prominent Democratic voices in the House of Representatives, having represented the fifth district in Minneapolis since 2019.
Recently, she has become a recurring target of Trump’s criticisms, who previously called for her imprisonment or deportation over allegations related to widespread fraud involving Somali communities in her state, without providing direct evidence linking her to those issues.
Omar’s wealth estimate is based on her official financial disclosures, as documents submitted in May 2025 showed that her husband, political consultant Tim Mynett, owns significant assets including a wine company valued between $1 million and $5 million, and an investment firm valued between $5 million and $25 million.
Review of Ilhan’s disclosures
Based on these estimates, the couple’s net worth ranges between $6 million and $30 million, after deducting liabilities such as Ilhan Omar’s student loan debts. The disclosures indicate that the majority of the wealth comes from the husband’s assets, while Omar’s personal assets remain relatively limited.
The House Oversight Committee announced that it has begun reviewing Ilhan Omar’s financial disclosures.
The committee’s chairman, Republican Representative James Comer, stated that the committee “will get answers, whether through the Ethics Committee or the Oversight Committee.”
The controversy comes at a time when federal authorities are investigating a large fraud scandal in Minnesota, which the prosecution estimates could exceed $9 billion. The case “Feeding Our Future” is one of the most prominent files, as it involves a scheme during the COVID-19 pandemic to submit fraudulent or inflated claims for child nutrition programs, diverting between $250 million and $300 million of federal funds.
