ماذا تريد إسرائيل؟ سؤال تحاول إسرائيل الإجابة عنه بكشف حقيقتها العدوانية.. وأصولها العنصرية ومرجعيتها غير الأخلاقية. هي تزعم، وبالأحرى زعماؤها، أنها خاضت حرباً على سبع جبهات، خلال العامين الماضيين، وانتصرت فيها جميعاً، ولم يعد هناك أي مبرر سياسي أو قانوني أو أخلاقي يمنعها من أن تخفي حقيقتها العدوانية.. وسقوطها الأخلاقي وتاريخية عنصريتها البغيضة. لم يعد يعنيها القول إنها دولة عنصرية.. ولم يعد يزعجها القول إنها دولة مارقة.. ولم يعد يهمها القول إنها دولة توسعية، ولم يعد يعنيها اتهام ساستها وجنرالاتها، وأنهم مطلوبون للعدالة الدولية، بوصفهم مجرمي حربٍ ارتكبوا وما زالوا يرتكبون جرائم إبادة جماعية، ولا حتى يخجلون من ذلك.

إسرائيل في حقيقة الأمر، بعد حربٍ عدوانية توسعية ضروس خاضتها، طوال السنتين الأخيرتين، لم تعد إسرائيل كما كانت قبل السابع من أكتوبر 2022، حين كادت أن تُتوّج قوة إقليمية مهيمنة على منطقة الشرق الأوسط، بفرض صيغة «السلام الإبراهيمي». حينها، كانت إسرائيل تتمتع بردع إستراتيجي، لا تملك أي قوة إقليمية في المنطقة أو في العالم تحدي واقعه المهيمن. حينها كان العالم، على استحياء يعبّر عن رفضه واستهجانه لممارسات إسرائيل العدوانية والتوسعية، دون أي فعل ملموس لمقاومة أو ردع تلك الممارسات. حينها كان العالم الغربي، من غرب جبال الأورال وحتى غرب العالم الجديد، أسيراً لرواية «دراما» مظلوميات إسرائيل الإنسانية، وعلى رقبته سيف عقدة العداء للسامية. حينها كان الغرب، سياسياً وأخلاقياً، مستعداً لدفع الثمن السياسي والأخلاقي والحضاري، لتأييد دولة عنصرية مفرطة في عدوانيتها، دون نقاش أو تحفّظ، بل ولا إحراج أو خجل.

الأمر تغيّر بعد السابع من أكتوبر 2022. عندها ثبت للعالم، بالذات للمنطقة، أن إستراتيجية الردع الإسرائيلية، ليست سوى نمرٍ من ورق مزّقته فصائل فلسطينية خرجت من أكثر بقاع العالم اكتظاظاً بالسكان، وأهلها محاصرون جوعى، لا يملكون من موارد القوة، سوى عزيمتهم الصلبة المصرة على الانعتاق من ربقة احتلال استيطاني غاشم.

أخلاقياً وسياسياً، ضربت تلك الحرب العدوانية العنصرية الوحشية، العالم بزلزال عنيف استمرت توابعه لعامين كاملين، حتى وصل دماره السياسي والأخلاقي، دولاً كبرى، كانت وما زالت إسرائيل تقتات على عونها السياسي وسندها القانوني وأودها الاقتصادي، لتكريس وجودها العدواني العنصري ضد (الشعب الفلسطيني). حتى الدعم اللامحدود الذي يُعد أنبوب الحياة الصناعي لبقاء إسرائيل واستمرارها بدا وأن وقوده من «الأكسجين» ينفد، حتى كادت إسرائيل تهلك، اختناقاً، من داخلها.

ليس هذا فحسب، لكن مجتمعات الغرب بدأت تصحو من «كابوس» مظلومية اليهود وعقدة السامية، ليس بالضرورة على مستوى النخب السياسية، في تلك المجتمعات، بل الأخطر: على مستوى القاعدة الجماهيرية، خاصةً فئة الشباب، بانتماءاتهم التعدّدية المختلفة. طوال سنتين من الحرب العدوانية على غزة ومسيّرات جماهيرية حاشدة تجوب شوارع مجتمعات الغرب، تنادي: الحرية للشعب الفلسطيني والتنديد بالحرب العدوانية، التي تهوي لقاع ارتكاب جرائم إبادة جماعية لشعبٍ مشكلته الأساسية أنه يسعى لتحرّره الوطني، ويطالب: أن تكون له دولة مستقلة ذات سيادة على أرضه، ليمارس عليها حقه الطبيعي غير القابل للتصرّف في تقرير مصيره.

هذا الحراك الجماهيري، الذي جاب شوارع الغرب واقتحم مؤسسات الحكم فيها من لندن إلى واشنطن وبرلين، مروراً بسيدني وباريس ولوس أنجلوس وطوكيو وسيول وأوكلاند، وإن كان أثره السياسي في النخب السياسية (الحاكمة والمعارضة)، لم يكن مباشراً، إلا أنه ظهر أثره السلبي في الانتخابات التي جرت خلال تلك السنتين، في الولايات المتحدة وبريطانيا وألمانيا والعديد من الدول الأوروبية. ما كان لهذا التغيير أن يحدث، لولا هذا الصدى المدوي، الذي أحدثته الحرب العدوانية على غزة وبقية الأراضي الفلسطينية المحتلة.

لكن الأثر الأقوى، الذي أخذ يَنْفِذُ إلى وجدان تلك الشعوب ليتسلل ببطء إلى ضمير وسلوك مؤسسات الحكم فيها، هو ذلك التحوّل على المستوى الثقافي والسياسي والإعلامي والأخلاقي والأكاديمي، الذي بدأ يظهر على مستوى قادة الرأي ورموز الإعلام ومؤسسات الصحافة ودور الفن وبيوت الأدب وقلاع العِلم، حيث أخذوا يتساءلون عن حكمة استمرار دعم كيان مارق، يرتكب من جرائم الحرب ما يندى له جبين أحرار العالم وضمير الإنسانية. بل يتساءلون عن الفائدة في دعم دولة مارقة (إسرائيل) من أموال دافعي الضرائب في تلك المجتمعات، مُلْحِقاًَ العار والخزي بالحضارة الغربية.

إسرائيل، خسرت في عامين، ما استثمرت فيه طوال ثمانية عقود. لم يعد رادعها الإستراتيجي، بتلك الفاعلية والكفاءة في تحقيق الأمن لها، ولا حتى ضمانة لوجودها. كما لم يعد لذلك الدعم المادي والسياسي من قبل مجتمعات الغرب، وثمنه الاقتصادي والأخلاقي الباهظ، أي عائد إستراتيجي مجدٍ متوقع.

إسرائيل لم تعد هي إسرائيل التي كانت قبل السابع من أكتوبر 2022. أضحت الدولة العبرية، عارية تماماً من درع إستراتيجية واقية.. ومن دعم عالمي سخي.. ومن أي بعد أخلاقي، يبرر وجودها. الأخطر: عودة مركّزة لحالة العداء للسامية، ربما تفوق تلك التي عانى منها اليهود في المجتمعات الغربية، عرفت بالمسألة اليهودية، فترة ما بين الحربَيْن العظمَيَيْن، القرن الماضي.

What does Israel want? This is a question that Israel tries to answer by revealing its aggressive reality, its racist origins, and its unethical references. It claims, or rather its leaders claim, that it has fought wars on seven fronts over the past two years and has won them all, and there is no longer any political, legal, or moral justification preventing it from hiding its aggressive reality, its moral collapse, and the historical nature of its abhorrent racism. It no longer cares to be called a racist state, nor is it bothered by being labeled a rogue state, nor does it care about being called an expansionist state, and it is no longer concerned about the accusations against its politicians and generals, who are wanted by international justice as war criminals who have committed and continue to commit acts of genocide, and they do not even feel ashamed of that.

In reality, after a fierce expansionist aggressive war it waged over the last two years, Israel is no longer the same as it was before October 7, 2022, when it was on the verge of being crowned a dominant regional power in the Middle East by imposing the “Abrahamic peace” formula. At that time, Israel enjoyed strategic deterrence, with no regional power in the area or the world able to challenge its dominant reality. The world then, albeit timidly, expressed its rejection and condemnation of Israel’s aggressive and expansionist practices, without any tangible action to resist or deter those practices. At that time, the Western world, from the west of the Ural Mountains to the west of the New World, was a prisoner of the narrative of the “drama” of Israel’s humanitarian grievances, with the sword of anti-Semitism hanging over its neck. The West was politically and morally prepared to pay the political, moral, and civilizational price to support an excessively aggressive racist state, without discussion or reservations, and without embarrassment or shame.

Things changed after October 7, 2022. It became clear to the world, especially to the region, that the Israeli deterrence strategy was nothing more than a paper tiger torn apart by Palestinian factions that emerged from some of the most densely populated areas of the world, where its people are besieged and starving, possessing no resources of power other than their steadfast determination to break free from the grip of an oppressive settlement occupation.

Morally and politically, that brutal racist aggressive war struck the world with a violent earthquake whose aftershocks lasted for two full years, reaching the political and moral destruction of major countries that Israel has relied on for political support, legal backing, and economic aid to entrench its aggressive racist existence against the Palestinian people. Even the unlimited support, which is considered the lifeline for Israel’s survival and continuity, seemed to be running out of “oxygen,” to the point where Israel was nearly suffocating from within.

Not only that, but Western societies began to awaken from the “nightmare” of Jewish grievances and the complex of anti-Semitism, not necessarily at the level of political elites in those societies, but more dangerously: at the grassroots level, especially among the youth, with their diverse affiliations. For two years of aggressive war on Gaza, massive public demonstrations swept through the streets of Western societies, calling for freedom for the Palestinian people and denouncing the aggressive war that descends to the depths of committing genocide against a people whose fundamental issue is that they seek national liberation and demand to have an independent sovereign state on their land, to exercise their natural and inalienable right to self-determination.

This grassroots movement, which traversed the streets of the West and stormed its governing institutions from London to Washington and Berlin, passing through Sydney, Paris, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Seoul, and Auckland, although its political impact on the political elites (ruling and opposition) was not direct, its negative effect appeared in the elections that took place during those two years in the United States, Britain, Germany, and many European countries. This change would not have occurred without the resounding echo created by the aggressive war on Gaza and the rest of the occupied Palestinian territories.

However, the strongest impact that began to penetrate the consciousness of those peoples and slowly seep into the conscience and behavior of their governing institutions is the cultural, political, media, moral, and academic transformation that began to appear among opinion leaders, media figures, press institutions, art houses, literary circles, and centers of knowledge, where they began to question the wisdom of continuing to support a rogue entity that commits war crimes that bring shame to the free people of the world and the conscience of humanity. They even question the benefit of supporting a rogue state (Israel) with taxpayer money in those societies, attaching disgrace and shame to Western civilization.

Israel has lost in two years what it invested in for eight decades. Its strategic deterrence is no longer effective or efficient in ensuring its security, nor even a guarantee of its existence. Likewise, the material and political support from Western societies, with its high economic and moral cost, no longer yields any promising strategic return.

Israel is no longer the Israel it was before October 7, 2022. The Hebrew state has become completely stripped of a protective strategic shield, of generous global support, and of any moral dimension that justifies its existence. The most dangerous aspect is the concentrated return of anti-Semitism, perhaps exceeding that which Jews suffered in Western societies, known as the Jewish question, during the period between the two World Wars of the last century.
