تواصل السعودية دعمها للقضية الجنوبية من خلال رعايتها لمؤتمر الرياض الذي يجمع القيادات والشخصيات الجنوبية دون تمييز أو إقصاء من أجل التوصل إلى حلول عادلة تلبّي آمالهم وتطلعاتهم من خلال طرح كل ما يتوصلون إليه على طاولة الحل السياسي الشامل.
ولقي إعلان قيادات المجلس الانتقالي بحل المجلس ردود فعل واسعة في الخارج وفي الداخل اليمني، باعتباره خطوة شجاعة تحمل معاني كثيرة من بينها الاعتراف بالأخطاء التي ارتكبها المجلس وخصوصاً ما يتعلق باحتلاله لمعسكرات الشرعية في محافظتَي حضرموت والمهرة، وما تم ارتكابه من قتل وتعذيب وتهجير ومخالفات بحق الأهالي والسكان في المحافظتين، وفي المقابل الرغبة الصادقة في التوصل إلى توافقات تحافظ على القضية الجنوبية خصوصاً وهم يعلنون ثقتهم بأن السعودية حريصة على أن تبقى القضية الجنوبية حية وبعيدة عن المزايدات والإقصاء الذي كان يمارسه عيدروس الزبيدي، والذي ترك رفاق دربه وهرب إلى أبو ظبي دون أي اهتمام أو اعتبار للقضية الجنوبية التي أصبحت اليوم في موقع أكثر أماناً من ذي قبل.
ويعول أهالي وسكان جنوب اليمن على مؤتمر الرياض للقيادات والشخصيات الجنوبية كثيراً؛ باعتباره أنه سيضع خارطة طريق واضحة للقضية الجنوبية التي توليها السعودية كامل الرعاية والاهتمام باعتبارها قضية محقة وعادلة.
Saudi Arabia continues to support the southern cause through its sponsorship of the Riyadh Conference, which brings together southern leaders and figures without discrimination or exclusion in order to reach fair solutions that meet their hopes and aspirations by presenting everything they reach on the table of a comprehensive political solution.
The announcement by the leaders of the Transitional Council to dissolve the council received widespread reactions both abroad and within Yemen, as it is considered a courageous step that carries many meanings, including the acknowledgment of the mistakes made by the council, particularly regarding its occupation of the legitimacy camps in the governorates of Hadhramaut and Al-Mahrah, as well as the acts of killing, torture, displacement, and violations against the residents and citizens in the two governorates. In contrast, there is a sincere desire to reach agreements that preserve the southern cause, especially as they express their confidence that Saudi Arabia is keen to keep the southern cause alive and free from the exploitation and exclusion that was practiced by Aidarus al-Zubaidi, who abandoned his comrades and fled to Abu Dhabi without any concern or regard for the southern cause, which has now become in a more secure position than before.
The people and residents of southern Yemen are counting heavily on the Riyadh Conference for southern leaders and figures, as it is expected to lay out a clear roadmap for the southern cause, which Saudi Arabia fully sponsors and cares for, considering it a just and rightful issue.
