بعد حظرها في البلاد.. احتجاجات في روسيا دفاعاً عن «روبلوكس» – أخبار السعودية – كورا نيو

في حدث نادر يعكس توترات الرقابة الإلكترونية في روسيا خلال سنوات الحرب مع أوكرانيا، تجمع العشرات في حديقة فلاديمير فيسوتسكي بمدينة تومسك السيبيرية، على بعد 2900 كيلومتر شرقي موسكو، اعتراضاً على حظر فرضته روسيا هذا الشهر على منصة روبلوكس الامريكية لألعاب الأطفال.

ورفع المشاركون في الاحتجاج لافتات مكتوب عليها بخط اليد: «ارفعوا أيديكم عن روبلوكس»، «روبلوكس ضحية الستار الحديدي الرقمي»، و«الحظر والحجب هو كل ما تستطيعون فعله».

وجاء الاحتجاج رداً على قرار هيئة مراقبة الاتصالات الروسية «روسکومنادزور» في ديسمبر الجاري بحظر المنصة الأمريكية روبلوكس، الشهيرة بلعبة الأطفال والمراهقين، حيث يصمم اللاعبون عوالمهم الافتراضية.

وحظرت روسيا اللعبة الشهيرة بحجة أنها «مليئة بالمحتوى غير اللائق الذي يؤثر سلباً على النمو الفكري والأخلاقي للأطفال»، مشمولاً بمواد إرهابية ودعاية «إل جي بي تي» المحظورة في روسيا.

ومنذ بدء العملية العسكرية الروسية في أوكرانيا في فبراير 2022، شددت موسكو قبضتها على الإنترنت كجزء من «حرب المعلومات» ضد الغرب، حيث حجبت أو قيدت الوصول إلى فيسبوك، إنستغرام، سناب شات، يوتيوب، واتساب، وغيرها، لمواجهة ما يصفه المسؤولون بـ«الثقافة الغربية المنحلة» التي تهدد القيم الروسية التقليدية.

وليست روسيا الدولة الوحيدة التي تحظر لعبة «روبلوكس» التي يقع مقرها الرئيسي في سان ماتيو بكاليفورنيا، حيث سبق حظرها في دول مثل العراق وتركيا بسبب مخاوف من استغلال المتحرشين للأطفال.

ورغم ذلك، أكدت روبلوكس التزامها «بالسلامة الاستباقية» لمنع المحتوى الضار، وأن لديها «مجموعة قوية من التدابير الوقائية»، لكن الكرملين أفاد بتلقي آلاف الشكاوى من الأطفال مباشرة إلى بوتين، وأقرت غرفة المجتمع المدني بصنع نسخة روسية.

كان الاحتجاج مصرحاً في «غايد بارك» الخاص بتومسك، لكنه شهد توترات؛ حيث اعتقلت الشرطة شخصين قبل البدء بتهمة «عرض رموز متطرفة»، وتم التحقق من بطاقات عسكرية لآخرين، وأعلن المنظمون عن احتجاج آخر يوم 21 ديسمبر، مما يشير إلى زخم ناشئ رغم المخاطر في روسيا الحربية.

In a rare event reflecting the tensions of electronic censorship in Russia during the years of war with Ukraine, dozens gathered in Vladimir Vysotsky Park in the Siberian city of Tomsk, 2,900 kilometers east of Moscow, in protest against a ban imposed by Russia this month on the American children’s gaming platform Roblox.

Participants in the protest held up hand-written signs reading: “Hands off Roblox,” “Roblox is a victim of the digital Iron Curtain,” and “Bans and blocks are all you can do.”

The protest came in response to a decision by the Russian communications watchdog “Roskomnadzor” earlier this December to ban the American platform Roblox, famous for its games for children and teenagers, where players design their own virtual worlds.

Russia banned the popular game on the grounds that it is “filled with inappropriate content that negatively affects the intellectual and moral development of children,” including materials related to terrorism and “LGBT” propaganda, which is banned in Russia.

Since the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine in February 2022, Moscow has tightened its grip on the internet as part of an “information war” against the West, blocking or restricting access to Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, WhatsApp, and others, to counter what officials describe as “decadent Western culture” that threatens traditional Russian values.

Russia is not the only country that has banned the game “Roblox,” which is headquartered in San Mateo, California; it has previously been banned in countries like Iraq and Turkey due to concerns about child predators.

Despite this, Roblox has affirmed its commitment to “proactive safety” to prevent harmful content, stating that it has “a strong set of preventive measures,” but the Kremlin reported receiving thousands of complaints from children directly to Putin, and the Civil Society Chamber acknowledged the creation of a Russian version.

The protest was authorized in Tomsk’s “Gaid Park,” but it witnessed tensions; police arrested two individuals before it began on charges of “displaying extremist symbols,” and military IDs were checked for others. Organizers announced another protest on December 21, indicating an emerging momentum despite the risks in wartime Russia.
