بعد كشف ملفات إبستين.. «العدل الأمريكية» تستبعد توجيه اتهامات جنائية جديدة – أخبار السعودية – كورا نيو
استبعد نائب المدعي العام الأمريكي تود بلانش احتمال توجيه اتهامات جنائية إضافية على خلفية ما كشفته وثائق جديدة من ملفات قضية الملياردير الراحل جيفري إبستين المُدان بجرائم جنسية، مؤكداً أن وجود صور مروعة ومراسلات إلكترونية مقلقة لا يشكّل بالضرورة أساساً لملاحقة أي شخص قضائياً، بحسب ما ذكرت وكالة «أسوشيتد برس».
صور مروعة وشخصيات نافذة
وقال بلانش، في مقابلة مع شبكة CNN، أمس (الأحد)، إن موقف الوزارة لم يتغير، رغم الكشف عن كم هائل من الوثائق منذ الجمعة، ما أعاد تركيز الاهتمام مجدداً على علاقات إبستين بشخصيات نافذة حول العالم، وأثار تساؤلات حول ما إذا كان معارفه على عِلم بجرائمه أم لا.
ولفت إلى أن هناك الكثير من المراسلات، والكثير من رسائل البريد الإلكتروني، والكثير من الصور، وهناك الكثير من الصور المروّعة التي يبدو أنها التُقطت من قبل إبستين أو أشخاص من دائرته، لكن هذا لا يتيح لنا بالضرورة مقاضاة أي شخص.
وأوضح أن ضحايا الاعتداءات التي ارتكبها إبستين «يريدون التعويض الكامل»، لكنه شدد على أن ذلك «لا يعني أننا نستطيع اختلاق أدلة أو تلفيق قضية غير موجودة».
أكثر من 3 ملايين صفحة
وأفرجت وزارة العدل، الجمعة، عن أكثر من 3 ملايين صفحة من الوثائق إلى جانب أكثر من 2000 مقطع فيديو و180 ألف صورة، بموجب قانون يهدف إلى الكشف عن معظم المواد التي جمعتها الحكومة خلال عقدين من التحقيقات في قضية إبستين.
وجاءت تداعيات نشر الملفات سريعة، إذ استقال مسؤول رفيع في سلوفاكيا من منصبه بعد أن كشفت الصور ورسائل بالبريد الإلكتروني لقاءه بإبستين خلال السنوات التي تلت خروج الأخير من السجن.
ودعا رئيس الوزراء البريطاني كير ستارمر، أندرو ماونتباتن-ويندسور، المعروف سابقاً بالأمير أندرو، وهو صديق قديم لإبستين، للإدلاء بشهادته أمام محققين أمريكيين حول ما إذا كان على عِلم بأنشطة رجل الأعمال الراحل.
أسماء في ملفات إبستين
وتضمنت الملفات، التي نُشرت على الموقع الإلكتروني للوزارة، وثائق تتعلق بصداقة إبستين مع ماونتباتن-ويندسور، إضافة إلى مراسلاته الإلكترونية مع مستشار ترمب السابق ستيف بانون، والشريك المؤسس لفريق New York Giants، ستيف تيش، وشخصيات بارزة أخرى من الأوساط السياسية والتجارية والخيرية، مثل المليارديران بيل غيتس، وإيلون ماسك.
وقال بلانش، في المقابلة، إن هناك «عدداً هائلاً من الأشخاص وردت أسماؤهم في ملفات إبستين إلى جانب ترمب»، مضيفاً أن مكتب التحقيقات الفيدرالي FBI تلقى «مئات المكالمات» بشأن شخصيات معروفة، وتبيّن سريعاً أن الادعاءات «غير موثوقة».
وفي ظهور منفصل على شبكة ABC News، لفت بلانش إلى أنه رغم وجود «عدد قليل فقط من الوثائق»، التي لا تزال وزارة العدل بانتظار موافقة قاضٍ قبل الإفراج عنها، فإن عملية فحص الوزارة للمواد «قد انتهت». وأضاف: «راجعنا أكثر من 6 ملايين وثيقة ورقية، وآلاف مقاطع الفيديو، وعشرات الآلاف من الصور».
ضرورة الالتزام بالقانون
من جانبه، قال رئيس مجلس النواب الأمريكي الجمهوري مايك جونسون، في مقابلة مع شبكة NBC News، إنه يعتقد أن وزارة العدل تلتزم بالقانون الذي يفرض الكشف العلني عن ملفات إبستين.
لكن النائب الديمقراطي رو خانا، وهو أحد رعاة القانون الذي يلزم وزارة العدل بنشر ملفات إبستين، قال إنه لا يعتقد أن الوزارة التزمت بالكامل، مضيفاً أن الناجين من الانتهاكات مستاؤون، لأن أسماء كثير منهم كُشفت عن طريق الخطأ دون حجب، ويرغبون في التأكد من نشر بقية الملفات.
وذكر بلانش أن الوزارة، في كل مرة اكتشفت فيها أن اسم أحد الضحايا لم يُحجب بشكل صحيح، تحركت سريعاً لإصلاح المشكلة، لافتاً إلى أن هذه الأخطاء لا تمثل سوى جزء ضئيل من إجمالي مواد القضية.

Horrifying Images and Influential Figures
Blanche stated in an interview with CNN yesterday (Sunday) that the department’s position has not changed, despite the release of a vast amount of documents since Friday, which has refocused attention on Epstein’s connections with influential figures around the world and raised questions about whether his acquaintances were aware of his crimes.
He noted that there are many correspondences, many emails, and many images, including numerous horrifying photos that appear to have been taken by Epstein or people in his circle, but this does not necessarily allow us to prosecute anyone.
He clarified that the victims of Epstein’s assaults “want full compensation,” but stressed that this “does not mean we can fabricate evidence or concoct a nonexistent case.”
Over 3 Million Pages
The Justice Department released over 3 million pages of documents along with more than 2,000 video clips and 180,000 images on Friday, under a law aimed at disclosing most of the materials collected by the government over two decades of investigations into the Epstein case.
The fallout from the release of the files was swift, as a senior official in Slovakia resigned after images and emails revealed his meeting with Epstein during the years following Epstein’s release from prison.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer called on Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly known as Prince Andrew and a longtime friend of Epstein, to testify before U.S. investigators about whether he was aware of the late businessman’s activities.
Names in Epstein’s Files
The files published on the department’s website included documents related to Epstein’s friendship with Mountbatten-Windsor, as well as his emails with former Trump advisor Steve Bannon, co-founder of the New York Giants, Steve Tisch, and other prominent figures from political, business, and charitable circles, such as billionaires Bill Gates and Elon Musk.
Blanche stated in the interview that there are “a tremendous number of individuals whose names appeared in Epstein’s files alongside Trump,” adding that the FBI received “hundreds of calls” regarding known figures, and it quickly became clear that the allegations were “unreliable.”
In a separate appearance on ABC News, Blanche noted that although there are “only a few documents” that the Justice Department is still waiting for a judge’s approval to release, the department’s review of the materials “has concluded.” He added: “We reviewed over 6 million paper documents, thousands of video clips, and tens of thousands of images.”
The Necessity of Adhering to the Law
For his part, Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson stated in an interview with NBC News that he believes the Justice Department is adhering to the law that mandates the public disclosure of Epstein’s files.
However, Democratic Representative Ro Khanna, one of the sponsors of the law requiring the Justice Department to release Epstein’s files, said he does not believe the department has fully complied, adding that survivors of the abuses are frustrated because many of their names were inadvertently disclosed without redaction, and they want to ensure the rest of the files are published.
Blanche mentioned that each time the department discovered that a victim’s name had not been properly redacted, it acted swiftly to rectify the issue, noting that these errors represent only a small fraction of the total materials in the case.
