«دار القلم» تشرع أبواب «الاستوديو المفتوح» في جدة التاريخية – أخبار السعودية – كورا نيو

أعلن مركز الأمير محمد بن سلمان العالمي للخط العربي (دار القلم) عن تنظيم الاستوديو المفتوح لمشاريع الفنانين المشاركين في النسخة الثانية من «إقامة دار القلم»، في جدة التاريخية، ضمن برنامج إبداعي امتد ثمانية أسابيع، وانطلقت أعماله في نوفمبر الماضي.

ويستقبل الاستوديو المفتوح الزوّار خلال الفترة من 8 إلى 12 يناير 2026 في مدرسة الفلاح بجدة التاريخية، مقدّماً للجمهور فرصة نادرة للاطلاع عن قرب على نتاج إقامة فنية تتقاطع فيها الأصالة مع المعاصرة، وتُستكشف من خلالها تحوّلات الخط العربي في سياقات بصرية جديدة.

ويشارك في هذه النسخة 10 فنانين وفنانات هم؛ أم كلثوم العلوي، بدور اليافعي، بشرى الكبسي، رفيق الله خان، زينب السبّاع، سمية السيّد، ليلى الكاف، مصطفى العرب، هند جعفر، يمنى البهات. وقد خضعت أعمالهم لمسار تقييم ومتابعة فنية بإشراف القيّم الفني عبدالرحمن الشاهد ومساعدة القيّمة ليال القين، بما أسهم في بلورة تجارب فردية وجماعية ناضجة.

وتنوّعت موضوعات المشاريع بين استلهام العمارة المحلية للمنطقة الغربية وكسوة الكعبة، واستكشاف العلاقة بين الحرف والنور، وإعادة قراءة غرائب المرويات وحكايات التراث المحلي، والتجريب في الخطوط الطباعية الرقمية، وصولاً إلى مقاربات مفاهيمية تعيد تقديم الخط العربي ضمن أطر بصرية معاصرة. كما تعدّدت الخامات بين الأقمشة والطبقات النسيجية، والورق اليدوي، والأسطح الشفافة، والطباعة اليدوية، إلى جانب الوسائط الرقمية والتقنيات الحديثة، في تجارب تؤكد اتساع آفاق الخط العربي وقدرته على الحوار مع الفنون المعاصرة.

وشملت الإقامة ورش عمل تطبيقية مكثفة، وجلسات تقييم فني، وحوارات معرفية، وجولات ميدانية، ولقاءات مع خبراء، ضمن بيئة محفّزة عززت التبادل المعرفي وطوّرت المسارات الإبداعية للمشاركين، حيث عُومل الحرف العربي بوصفه عنصراً بصرياً وثقافياً حياً، قابلاً للتحوّل والتجدّد بأساليب وخامات متعددة.

وتأتي النسخة الثانية من «إقامة دار القلم» امتداداً لجهود مركز الأمير محمد بن سلمان العالمي للخط العربي (دار القلم) في دعم الإبداع وتمكين الفنانين، وإحياء الخط العربي كرمز ثقافي وحضاري متجدّد، بما ينسجم مع مستهدفات الإستراتيجية الوطنية للثقافة تحت مظلة رؤية السعودية 2030.

The Prince Mohammed bin Salman Global Center for Arabic Calligraphy (Dar Al-Qalam) announced the organization of an open studio for the projects of participating artists in the second edition of “Dar Al-Qalam Residency,” in historic Jeddah, as part of a creative program that extended over eight weeks, which began its activities last November.

The open studio will welcome visitors from January 8 to 12, 2026, at Al-Falah School in historic Jeddah, offering the public a rare opportunity to closely observe the outcomes of an artistic residency that intersects authenticity with modernity, exploring the transformations of Arabic calligraphy in new visual contexts.

This edition features 10 male and female artists: Umm Kulthum Al-Alawi, Badr Al-Yafei, Bushra Al-Kabsi, Rafiq Allah Khan, Zainab Al-Sabbagh, Sumayya Al-Sayyid, Layla Al-Kaf, Mustafa Al-Arab, Hind Jafar, and Yumna Al-Bahat. Their works underwent a process of evaluation and artistic follow-up under the supervision of the artistic curator Abdulrahman Al-Shahed and the assistance of curator Layal Al-Qin, contributing to the development of mature individual and collective experiences.

The themes of the projects varied, drawing inspiration from the local architecture of the western region and the Kaaba’s covering, exploring the relationship between letters and light, reinterpreting the wonders of narratives and local heritage tales, experimenting with digital typographic scripts, and arriving at conceptual approaches that re-present Arabic calligraphy within contemporary visual frameworks. The materials used also varied, including fabrics and textile layers, handmade paper, transparent surfaces, and hand printing, alongside digital media and modern techniques, in experiences that affirm the broad horizons of Arabic calligraphy and its ability to engage with contemporary arts.

The residency included intensive practical workshops, artistic evaluation sessions, knowledge dialogues, field tours, and meetings with experts, within a stimulating environment that enhanced knowledge exchange and developed the creative pathways of the participants, treating Arabic calligraphy as a living visual and cultural element, capable of transformation and renewal through diverse methods and materials.

The second edition of “Dar Al-Qalam Residency” comes as an extension of the efforts of the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Global Center for Arabic Calligraphy (Dar Al-Qalam) in supporting creativity and empowering artists, and reviving Arabic calligraphy as a renewed cultural and civilizational symbol, in line with the objectives of the National Cultural Strategy under the umbrella of Saudi Vision 2030.
