أعلنت شركة مصر للطيران اليوم أنها اضطرت إلى تعديل مسارات رحلاتها المتجهة إلى قارة أوروبا والولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، وذلك بعد إغلاق السلطات اليونانية المجال الجوي اليوناني بالكامل بسبب عطل تقني كبير أصاب أنظمة الاتصالات والرقابة الجوية والملاحة.

وأوضحت الشركة، في بيان رسمي، أن المشكلة التقنية تتعلق بأنظمة الرقابة والملاحة في المجال الجوي اليوناني، مما دفع السلطات اليونانية إلى إصدار توجيه طيراني بإغلاق المجال الجوي لحين إشعار آخر.

وأكدت مصر للطيران أن هذا الإغلاق أثر بشكل مباشر على رحلاتها ورحلات العديد من شركات الطيران الأخرى العابرة أو المتجهة إلى أوروبا وأمريكا الشمالية، نظراً لأن المجال الجوي اليوناني يُعد أحد المحاور الرئيسية والأكثر كفاءة للرحلات القادمة من الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا إلى تلك الوجهات.

وأشارت الشركة إلى أن فرق مركز العمليات المتكامل تعمل حالياً على إعادة تخطيط مسارات الرحلات لتجنب عبور المجال الجوي اليوناني تماماً، موضحة أن هذه التعديلات تحتاج إلى وقت إضافي بسبب أهمية هذا الممر الجوي وتعقيد إعادة توجيه الرحلات الطويلة.

ومن المتوقع أن تؤدي التغييرات إلى زيادة في أوقات الطيران وزيادة استهلاك الوقود، مما قد ينعكس على بعض الجداول.

وتعهدت مصر للطيران بمتابعة الموقف لحظة بلحظة بالتنسيق مع الجهات الدولية المعنية، وأكدت أنها ستقوم بإبلاغ العملاء فوراً بأي تحديثات عبر قنواتها الرسمية، داعية الركاب إلى التحقق من حالة رحلاتهم قبل التوجه إلى المطار.

وشهد اليوم (الأحد)، المجال الجوي اليوناني اضطراباً شاملاً في حركة الطيران داخل اليونان نفسها، إذ توقفت عمليات الإقلاع والهبوط في مطار أثينا الدولي ومعظم المطارات الإقليمية، وأظهرت خرائط تتبع الرحلات فراغاً شبه كامل في الأجواء اليونانية.

وأفادت وسائل إعلام يونانية أن الطائرات التي كانت في الجو بالفعل سُمح لها بالهبوط يدوياً دون الاعتماد على الأنظمة الآلية.

ويُعد المجال الجوي اليوناني من أكثر المجالات الجوية ازدحاماً في أوروبا والشرق الأوسط، إذ تمر عبره يومياً مئات الرحلات القادمة من آسيا والشرق الأوسط وأفريقيا متجهة إلى أوروبا الغربية والولايات المتحدة.

ويُشرف على إدارته مركز التحكم في أثينا ومركز سالونيك، وأي خلل في أنظمة الاتصالات اللاسلكية أو أنظمة الملاحة يُجبر السلطات على إغلاق المجال أو تقييده بشكل كبير لضمان السلامة.

EgyptAir announced today that it has been forced to modify the routes of its flights heading to Europe and the United States, following the complete closure of Greek airspace by the Greek authorities due to a major technical failure affecting communication, air traffic control, and navigation systems.

The company clarified in an official statement that the technical issue pertains to the control and navigation systems in Greek airspace, prompting the Greek authorities to issue a flight directive to close the airspace until further notice.

EgyptAir confirmed that this closure has directly impacted its flights and those of many other airlines transiting or heading to Europe and North America, as Greek airspace is considered one of the main and most efficient corridors for flights coming from the Middle East and North Africa to those destinations.

The company indicated that the Integrated Operations Center teams are currently working on re-planning flight routes to completely avoid crossing Greek airspace, explaining that these adjustments require additional time due to the importance of this air corridor and the complexity of rerouting long-haul flights.

It is expected that the changes will lead to increased flight times and higher fuel consumption, which may reflect on some schedules.

EgyptAir pledged to monitor the situation moment by moment in coordination with the relevant international authorities, and confirmed that it will inform customers immediately of any updates through its official channels, urging passengers to check the status of their flights before heading to the airport.

Today (Sunday), Greek airspace experienced widespread disruption in air traffic within Greece itself, as takeoff and landing operations at Athens International Airport and most regional airports were halted, with flight tracking maps showing a near-complete void in Greek skies.

Greek media reported that aircraft already in the air were allowed to land manually without relying on automated systems.

Greek airspace is one of the busiest airspaces in Europe and the Middle East, with hundreds of flights daily coming from Asia, the Middle East, and Africa heading to Western Europe and the United States.

It is managed by the control center in Athens and the Thessaloniki center, and any malfunction in wireless communication systems or navigation systems forces the authorities to close or significantly restrict the airspace to ensure safety.
