– في «عكاظ»، لا تتوقف عقارب الساعة، ولا يهدأ ضجيج المطابع ولا صخب المنصات الرقمية. هناك، تعلّمت على مدار ثلاثة عقود أن الصحافة ليست مجرد مهنة، بل هي عقيدة فكرية وقصة حبٍّ وطنية تُكتب كل يوم. «عكاظ» التي صنعت مجداً تليداً في تاريخ الصحافة السعودية والعربية، تظل الأيقونة التي لا تغيب شمسها، تنقل الخبر، تحلّل الحدث، وتدون تاريخ «حبِّ الوطن» بمداد من فخر.

– لقد علمتني «عكاظ» أن الفكر لا ينام؛ فقبل أن تغمض عينك، لا بد أن يخط قلمك ماذا ستكتب غداً. هي معركة يومية نخوضها مع الحرف والقلم، نختلف أحياناً على صياغة «المانشيت» أو جاذبية العنوان، لكننا لا نختلف أبداً على المضمون والجوهر، ولا على قدسية الرسالة المهنية التي تقدمها هذه الصحيفة العريقة.

– وعلى الرغم من التحديات العاصفة التي واجهت الصحافة الورقية عالمياً، بقيت «عكاظ» صامدة كالجبل، يقود دفّتها ربان محارب هو الأستاذ جميل الذيابي، الذي لم يستسلم يوماً، بل ظلَّ يناضل لصناعة عمل مهني احترافي يشهد له القاصي والداني.

– اليوم، وأنا أودّع هذا الكيان العظيم، أعود بذاكرتي إلى البدايات، ممتناً للدكتور هاشم عبده هاشم، الذي فتح لي الأبواب ومنحني الثقة في مقتبل المشوار، وصولاً إلى أستاذي ومعلمي الأستاذ جميل الذيابي، الذي وجدت منه كل دعم وتحفيز طوال فترة إشرافي على مكتب «عكاظ» بالمدينة المنورة.

– شكراً من القلب لرفقاء الدرب، للأستاذ الشاعر والمثقف نائب رئيس التحرير عبدالله عبيان، الذي كان محفّزاً وداعماً في كل خطوة، وللأستاذ القدير عبدالله آل هتيلة (مساعد رئيس التحرير) على وقفته ودعمه الشخصي لي.

– شكراً لزملائي في المركز الرئيسي، وفي مكتب المدينة المنورة، وفي المكاتب كافة، الذين غمروني بلطفهم ومشاعرهم النبيلة، سواء أثناء العمل أو في لحظات الوداع. لقد كانت «عكاظ» بيتاً احتوى أحلامنا، ومدرسة صقلت أقلامنا.

– أغادر موقعي، لكنني لا أغادر حبَّ «عكاظ»، ولا حبَّ قرّائها الذين هم الوقود الحقيقي لكل نجاح. ستبقى هذه الأيقونة في قلبي، وسيبقى فكرها منارة لا تنطفئ.

– At “Okaz,” the hands of the clock do not stop, the noise of the presses does not quiet, nor does the clamor of digital platforms. There, I learned over three decades that journalism is not just a profession; it is an intellectual creed and a national love story written every day. “Okaz,” which has forged a glorious legacy in the history of Saudi and Arab journalism, remains the icon whose sun never sets, conveying news, analyzing events, and recording the history of “love for the homeland” with ink of pride.

– “Okaz” taught me that thought does not sleep; before you close your eyes, your pen must write what you will write tomorrow. It is a daily battle we fight with letters and pens; sometimes we disagree on the phrasing of the “headline” or the attractiveness of the title, but we never disagree on the content and essence, nor on the sanctity of the professional message that this venerable newspaper presents.

– Despite the stormy challenges faced by print journalism globally, “Okaz” has remained steadfast like a mountain, steered by a warrior captain, Professor Jamil Al-Dhiyabi, who has never surrendered but has continued to strive to create a professional work that is acknowledged by all.

– Today, as I bid farewell to this great entity, I return in my memory to the beginnings, grateful to Dr. Hashim Abdu Hashim, who opened doors for me and granted me confidence at the start of my journey, up to my mentor and teacher, Professor Jamil Al-Dhiyabi, from whom I received all the support and encouragement throughout my supervision of the “Okaz” office in Medina.

– Heartfelt thanks to my companions on this journey, to the poet and cultured editor-in-chief Abdullah Obayan, who was a motivator and supporter at every step, and to the esteemed Professor Abdullah Al-Hatila (Assistant Editor-in-Chief) for his personal support to me.

– Thank you to my colleagues at the main office, in the Medina office, and in all the offices, who enveloped me with their kindness and noble feelings, whether during work or in moments of farewell. “Okaz” has been a home that embraced our dreams and a school that honed our pens.

– I am leaving my position, but I do not leave the love of “Okaz,” nor the love of its readers who are the true fuel for every success. This icon will remain in my heart, and its thought will remain a beacon that never extinguishes.
