تعد منطقة الشرق الأوسط واحدة من أهم المناطق التي تتميّز بموقع إستراتيجي متميّز وثروات طبيعية وتنوع ثقافي قلّما يتكرر في منطقة أخرى بالعالم، وهو ما كان أحد العوامل المهمة التي فرضت عليه تحديات كثيرة، وتعد قضية استقرار الشرق الأوسط من أشد القضايا السياسية الدولية تعقيداً على الساحة في عصرنا الحالي، والاستقرار في الشرق الأوسط يعد حجر الزاوية لغالبية التوازنات الإقليمية والدولية، فالمنطقة تربط الشرق بالغرب، وعلى الرغم من سعي الكثير من دول المنطقة لتحقيق الاستقرار، إلا أن الواقع أثبت –للأسف الشديد- أن الكثير من دول المنطقة لا تزال تواجه العديد من التحديات التي حوّلت المنطقة لصفيح ساخن، فعلى المستوى السياسي تواجه بعض دول المنطقة نزاعات داخلية وهو ما يخلق حالة توتر واضطراب مستمر في المنطقة.

وذلك بخلاف الحروب التي اندلعت بين إسرائيل وبعض دول المنطقة مما أدّى لعدم استقرار العديد من دولها، وتلك التي تواجه تحديات داخلية وخارجية مثل قطاع غزة الذي شكّل الاعتداء الإسرائيلي الآثم عليه جرحاً في جسد الأمة العربية، وهذه العوامل أفرزت بدورها تحديات اقتصادية كبيرة، فالدول التي تعاني من صراعات داخلية ومشاكل سياسية خارجية تفشل في تحقيق أي تنمية حقيقية على الأرض، بخلاف تدمير بناها التحتية والأساسية ونزوح مواطنيها منها إلى الدول المجاورة، مما يضعف خططها التنموية ويفاقم من طبيعة أزماتها الاقتصادية.

وعلى الرغم من الثراء الثقافي والفكري في المنطقة إلا أنها شهدت العديد من حركات التطرف الإرهابية المتشدّدة، والتي عصفت بالمنطقة لفترة طويلة من الزمن قبل أن يتم السيطرة عليها لحد كبير، غير أن بعض الدول مثل لبنان واليمن لا تزال تتواجد بها المليشيات المسلحة التي تعرقل من سيطرة الدولة على إدارة شؤون البلاد، وهو ما يؤدي بالتبعية للانفلات الأمني الذي يؤثر بالسلب كثيراً على حياة مواطنيها.

كثيرة هي التحديات التي تواجهها دول منطقة الشرق الأوسط، ومن اللافت الدور الإقليمي الكبير الذي تقوم به دول الخليج لترسيخ الاستقرار في المنطقة بقيادة المملكة العربية السعودية، والتي تقود جهوداً ضخمة ومتعددة المستويات لدعم الاستقرار في المنطقة سواء في لبنان أو اليمن أو سوريا أو السودان، وقد سعت بثقلها السياسي والاقتصادي لإعادة بعض الدول للبيت العربي وللمجتمع الدولي مثل سوريا، والتي سعت لرفع العقوبات عنها ودعم استقرارها والعمل على خدمة مواطنيها بعد عقود من الاستبداد السياسي والحروب الأهلية.

لا شك أن قيام المملكة العربية السعودية بدورها الإقليمي والدولي في دعم الاستقرار بالمنطقة كان له كبير الأثر فيما تتمتع به المنطقة حالياً من استقرار، ولا شك أن الاستقرار لابد أن يعتمد بشكل مباشر على مستوى من الثقة لا يمكن أن يتوفر بدون جهود متوازنة وحاسمة وواعية من طرف يعي جيداً أن استقرار المنطقة هو مفتاح الأمان لانتعاشها اقتصادياً وتمتعها بالأمن والأمان.

منذ أيام قليلة انعقدت قمة مجلس التعاون الخليجي لهذا العام في دولة البحرين الشقيقة، وكان موضوعها هو كيفية تحقيق الاستقرار في منطقة الشرق الأوسط، وقد تم اتخاذ العديد من القرارت المهمة التي تصب جميعها في صالح تحقيق الاستقرار والهدوء في المنطقة وأهمها السودان الذي لا تزال تمزّقه ويلات الحرب الأهلية التي لا تزال تعصف به وبشعبه الأعزل، ومن الملاحظ أنه على الرغم من النجاحات العديدة التي تم تحقيقها بالفعل في المنطقة إلا أن التحديات لا زالت كثيرة ومتعددة، وأهمها استقرار غزة وإقرار حل الدولتين، والحد من الاعتداءات الإسرائيلية على بعض دول المنطقة.

من المؤكد أن تحقيق الاستقرار في منطقة الشرق الأوسط لا يزال يحتاج المزيد من الجهود الدبلوماسية، وعلى الأرض توجد نماذج مشرقة هي دول الخليج، والتي تمكّنت من مواجهة تحدياتها بحزم وحكمة معاً وتمكّنت من توحيد صفوفها وبدء مسيرتها التنموية الخاصة بها، وقد أصبحت واحة للاستقرار والأمان والتطور في المنطقة، لذلك لا تحتاج المنطقة إلا للتماسك والوحدة ونبذ الفرقة والتخلي عن الصراع المسلح، وهي الجهود التي تحتاج لتضافر والتفاف شعبي، وهو الطريق الوحيد الذي يمكن أن يبعد عن المنطقة شبح الحروب والفتنة التي ينفخ فيها البعض، لتتمكن من أن تحتل المكانة الدولية المرموقة التي تستحقها بين بقية دول العالم.

This has been one of the significant factors that imposed many challenges on the region. The issue of stability in the Middle East is one of the most complex international political issues on the current global stage. Stability in the Middle East is considered the cornerstone of most regional and international balances, as the region connects the East with the West. Despite the efforts of many countries in the region to achieve stability, the reality has unfortunately proven that many countries still face numerous challenges that have turned the region into a hotbed of conflict. Politically, some countries in the region are facing internal disputes, creating a state of continuous tension and unrest.

In addition to the wars that have erupted between Israel and some countries in the region, leading to instability in many of them, there are those facing internal and external challenges, such as the Gaza Strip, where the heinous Israeli aggression has left a wound in the body of the Arab nation. These factors have, in turn, produced significant economic challenges, as countries suffering from internal conflicts and external political issues fail to achieve any real development on the ground, in addition to the destruction of their infrastructure and the displacement of their citizens to neighboring countries, which weakens their development plans and exacerbates the nature of their economic crises.

Despite the cultural and intellectual wealth in the region, it has witnessed many extremist terrorist movements that have plagued it for a long time before being largely controlled. However, some countries, such as Lebanon and Yemen, still have armed militias that hinder the state’s control over managing the affairs of the country, leading to a security breakdown that negatively impacts the lives of their citizens.

There are many challenges facing the countries of the Middle East, and it is noteworthy the significant regional role played by the Gulf states in establishing stability in the region, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which is spearheading massive and multi-level efforts to support stability in the region, whether in Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, or Sudan. It has sought, with its political and economic weight, to bring some countries back into the Arab fold and the international community, such as Syria, which it has sought to lift sanctions from and support its stability and work to serve its citizens after decades of political oppression and civil wars.

There is no doubt that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s regional and international role in supporting stability in the region has had a significant impact on the stability currently enjoyed by the area. It is also clear that stability must directly rely on a level of trust that cannot be achieved without balanced, decisive, and conscious efforts from a party that fully understands that the stability of the region is the key to its economic recovery and enjoyment of security and safety.

A few days ago, the Gulf Cooperation Council summit for this year was held in the sisterly Kingdom of Bahrain, with the topic being how to achieve stability in the Middle East. Many important decisions were made, all aimed at achieving stability and calm in the region, especially in Sudan, which is still torn apart by the ravages of civil war affecting it and its defenseless people. It is noteworthy that despite the many successes that have already been achieved in the region, challenges remain numerous and varied, with the most important being the stability of Gaza, the endorsement of the two-state solution, and the reduction of Israeli aggressions against some countries in the region.

It is certain that achieving stability in the Middle East still requires more diplomatic efforts. On the ground, there are shining examples in the Gulf states, which have managed to face their challenges with both firmness and wisdom, unifying their ranks and starting their own development journey. They have become an oasis of stability, security, and development in the region. Therefore, the region only needs cohesion, unity, and the rejection of division and armed conflict, efforts that require popular solidarity and mobilization, which is the only path that can distance the region from the specter of wars and strife that some are inflating, allowing it to occupy the prestigious international position it deserves among the rest of the world.
