يشهد القطاع الصحي تحوّلًا شاملًا ضمن رؤية السعودية القديرة، يرتكز على الابتكار والاستدامة، بما يرسّخ مكانة المملكة كمركز عالمي للابتكار الطبي وأنموذج رائد للأنظمة الصحية المرنة.
رؤية تطابقت فيها الشعارات مع الأفعال، والنظريات مع التطبيق، والهمة المتوثبة مع القمة الشاهقة، استشعرتها القلوب الصادقة للمضي بها نحو التطبيق الفعلي واستلهام كافة التجارب الحديثة والتقنيات الطبية المتطوّرة، وتوطينها على أرض الوطن وبعث رسالة أن المملكة علم متطوّر، وأبحاث حاضرة في مثابات العلوم ومحافل الصحة العالمية.
تجسّدت هذه الصورة في مؤتمر ميلكن العالمي، وهو مؤسسة بحثية غير ربحية تركز على تسريع التقدم والرقي بصحة الإنسان.
كانت السعودية الجديدة حاضرة في هذا المحفل الدولي الرابع والعشرين متصدّرة نخبة العقول وألمعها في العالم مساهمة بخبراتها وإبداعاتها في رسم مسار جديد وفعّال لصحة الإنسان.
أتاح المؤتمر في أيامه الأربعة فرصةً واعدةً للالتقاء وتلاقح الأفكار ومعالجة المشكلات الحرجة وطرح الحلول الناجحة للبشرية.
كان حضور المملكة المائز في قمة (مستقبل الصحة) في واشنطن برعاية المستشار في الديوان الملكي والرئيس التنفيذي لمستشفى الملك فيصل التخصصي ومركز الأبحاث، الدكتور ماجد الفياض الذي تحدث بلغة العالِم وصوت الدولة، فكان حديثه امتدادًا لروحٍ قياديةٍ ترى في المستقبل مسؤولية لا ترفًا.. ناقلاً رسالة المملكة إلى العالم بأن الابتكار الصحي ليس رفاهية تقنية، بل ركيزة وجودية لمستقبل الإنسانية، وأن الحياة هي أعظم مشروعٍ وطني، وأن تحوّل القطاع الصحي على إيقاع الرؤية يرسّخ مكانتها كنموذج عالمي للأنظمة الصحية المرنة والمبنية على الابتكار، والتجديد والرؤية المستقبلية.
تحول يمتد إلى مجالات العلاج الجيني والخلايا الجذعية، والذكاء الاصطناعي بخطوات جريئة لترسيخ مكانتها كمركز رائد للعلاجات الحيوية المتقدّمة.
في الجلسة التي امتطى صهوة نقاشها الدكتور الفياض وحملت عنوان «أطر جديدة للابتكار المرن في مجال العلاجات القائمة على تعديل الجينات»، رفع الدكتور الفياض راية الفخر في أرض المؤتمر معلناً بأن التقدّم الذي تحققه المملكة في العلاج الجيني والخلايا الجذعية يجسّد التزامها بالابتكار المستدام واستعدادها لقيادة الجيل القادم من طب الجينوم، وأن العلاج بالخلايا التائية الذي طوّره التخصصي محليًا؛ أثبت فاعليته في علاج حالات متقدّمة من السرطان، مع خفضٍ التكلفة بنسبة 80%، في خطوة تبرز كيف يمكن للتصنيع الحيوي المحلي أن يُحدث تحولًا جوهريًا في إمكانية الوصول إلى العلاجات وتكلفته.
هذه الإنجازات النوعية تستند إلى بيئة تنظيمية محفّزة تقودها الهيئة العامة للغذاء والدواء، التي عملت على تسريع إجراءات الموافقات السريرية ومواءمتها مع المعايير الدولية، بما أتاح وصول المرضى إلى العلاجات المبتكرة بشكل أسرع.
التخصصي يقود ما يقارب نصف الدراسات السريرية النشطة في المملكة، مما يعزّز منظومة بحثية وطنية تترجم الاكتشافات العلمية إلى نتائج طبية ملموسة.
في خبر مفرح زفه الدكتور الفياض أن التخصصي يستعد لتشغيل أول منشأة وطنية للتصنيع الحيوي ستسهم في تلبية 9% من الطلب الوطني على العلاجات الجينية والخلوية وتوفّر ما يُقدّر بثمانية مليار ريال بحلول عام 2030،
في إطار استثمار المملكة الاستراتيجي في توطين التقنيات الطبية وتحويل البحوث إلى تطبيقات سريرية وبناء بنية تحتية تدعم الشراكات العالمية في مجالي التقنية الحيوية والطب الدقيق.
إن ريادة المملكة في مجال التقنية الحيوية تستند إلى رؤية وطنية موحدة وإطار تنظيمي متين، وإلى تنمية الكفاءات العلمية السعودية القادرة على قيادة موجة الابتكار الصحي القادمة وترسيخ منظومة طبية قائمة على المعرفة والتميّز تنفع الناس وتمكث في الأرض

The conference, over its four days, provided a promising opportunity for meeting, exchanging ideas, addressing critical issues, and proposing successful solutions for humanity.
The Kingdom’s distinguished presence at the (Future of Health) summit in Washington, sponsored by the advisor in the royal court and CEO of King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre, Dr. Majid Al-Fayyad, who spoke with the language of a scholar and the voice of the state, extended a leadership spirit that sees the future as a responsibility, not a luxury.. conveying the Kingdom’s message to the world that health innovation is not a technological luxury, but an existential pillar for the future of humanity, and that life is the greatest national project, and that the transformation of the healthcare sector in line with the vision solidifies its position as a global model for flexible healthcare systems based on innovation, renewal, and future vision.
A transformation that extends to the fields of gene therapy and stem cells, and artificial intelligence with bold steps to establish its position as a leading center for advanced biotherapies.
In the session led by Dr. Al-Fayyad titled “New Frameworks for Flexible Innovation in Gene Editing-Based Therapies,” Dr. Al-Fayyad raised the flag of pride at the conference, announcing that the progress achieved by the Kingdom in gene therapy and stem cells embodies its commitment to sustainable innovation and its readiness to lead the next generation of genomic medicine, and that the T-cell therapy developed locally by the specialist has proven effective in treating advanced cancer cases, with an 80% reduction in cost, highlighting how local biomanufacturing can fundamentally transform access to treatments and their costs.
These qualitative achievements are based on a stimulating regulatory environment led by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority, which has worked to expedite clinical approval processes and align them with international standards, allowing patients to access innovative treatments more quickly.
The specialist leads nearly half of the active clinical studies in the Kingdom, enhancing a national research system that translates scientific discoveries into tangible medical results.
In a joyful announcement, Dr. Al-Fayyad shared that the specialist is preparing to operate the first national biomanufacturing facility, which will contribute to meeting 9% of the national demand for gene and cellular therapies and provide an estimated eight billion riyals by 2030,
as part of the Kingdom’s strategic investment in localizing medical technologies, transforming research into clinical applications, and building infrastructure that supports global partnerships in biotechnology and precision medicine.
The Kingdom’s leadership in biotechnology is based on a unified national vision and a solid regulatory framework, and on developing Saudi scientific competencies capable of leading the next wave of health innovation and establishing a medical system based on knowledge and excellence that benefits people and remains on the ground.
