وزير الخارجية الأمريكي يطالب بضم الصين إلى اتفاقية الحد من التسلح – أخبار السعودية – كورا نيو

أكد وزير الخارجية الأمريكي ماركو روبيو اليوم (الجمعة) أن اتفاقية الحد من التسلح يجب أن تشمل روسيا والصين معاً، موضحاً أن قضية التسلح النووي لم تعد ثنائية بين أمريكا وروسيا فقط وأن مفاوضات الحد من التسلح النووي قد تستغرق وقتاً.

لفت روبيو أن عدد الرؤوس النووية لدى الصين زاد من 200 إلى 600، وأنها قد تمتلك بحلول 2030 نحو 1000 رأس نووي، مبيناً أن توسع الصين السريع في التسلح النووي جعل معاهدة «نيو ستارت» عتيقة.

وكان وكيل وزارة الخارجية الأمريكية لشؤون الحد من التسلح قد أكد أن الرئيس دونالد ترمب يريد معاهدةً جديدة أفضل من السابقة، واصفاً المعاهدة القديمة بـ«المعيبة».

وانتقد المسؤول الأمريكي في تصريحاته بالأمم المتحدة معاهدة «نيو ستارت»، مبيناً أنها لم تشمل جميع الأسلحة النووية، ولم تشمل الصين.

وكان الكرملين، قد أعلن في وقت سابق اليوم، أن روسيا والولايات المتحدة اتفقتا على ضرورة استئناف المحادثات النووية بينهما، بعدما انتهت مفاعيل آخر معاهدة تحد من ترسانتي موسكو وواشنطن.

وقال المتحدث باسم الكرملين دميتري بيسكوف: «هناك تفاهم، وتم بحثه، وعلى الجانبين التصرف بمسؤولية والاعتراف بضرورة بدء المفاوضات بشأن هذه المسألة في أقرب وقت».

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed today (Friday) that the arms reduction agreement must include both Russia and China, explaining that the issue of nuclear armament is no longer just a bilateral matter between America and Russia, and that negotiations on nuclear arms reduction may take time.

Rubio pointed out that the number of nuclear warheads in China has increased from 200 to 600, and that it could possess around 1,000 nuclear warheads by 2030, indicating that China’s rapid expansion in nuclear armament has rendered the “New START” treaty outdated.

The U.S. Under Secretary of State for Arms Control had confirmed that President Donald Trump wants a new treaty that is better than the previous one, describing the old treaty as “flawed.”

The American official criticized the “New START” treaty in his statements at the United Nations, noting that it did not cover all nuclear weapons and did not include China.

The Kremlin had announced earlier today that Russia and the United States agreed on the necessity of resuming nuclear talks between them, after the last treaty limiting the arsenals of Moscow and Washington expired.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, “There is an understanding, and it has been discussed, and both sides must act responsibly and recognize the need to start negotiations on this issue as soon as possible.”
