وتضمنت الزينة، التي أشرف عليها فريق من مصممي الديكور الداخلي للبيت الأبيض، إشارات رمزية إلى الذكرى الـ250 لتوقيع إعلان الاستقلال عام 1776، الذي يُعد حجر الأساس في تأسيس الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، مع التركيز على قيم الوحدة العائلية والوطنية في زمن التحديات السياسية.
ويعد كشف زينة عيد الميلاد في البيت الأبيض تقليدًا سنويًا يعود إلى عام 1800، عندما أشعلت السيدة الأولى أبيغيل آدامز أول أضواء احتفالية في المنزل الرئاسي، ومنذ ذلك الحين، أصبحت كل سيدة أولى تُضفي بصمتها الشخصية على التصميم، مستوحاة من الثقافة الأمريكية والقيم الوطنية.
وفي عهد ميلانيا ترمب الأول (2017-2021)، اشتهرت بتصاميمها الكلاسيكية والأنيقة، مثل الشجرة الرئيسية المزينة بأكثر من 1000 قطعة يدوية في 2018، والتي أثارت جدلاً بسبب بساطتها مقارنة بإسراف السنوات السابقة.

ويشمل التصميم أكثر من 20 شجرة عيد ميلاد مزينة بأضواء LED بيضاء، وأكاليل من الأوراق الخضراء الطبيعية، وتماثيل صغيرة تصور رموزًا تاريخية مثل الجرس الحرية والنسر الأمريكي، مع لمسات عائلية مثل صور أطفال يرتدون ملابس من القرن الثامن عشر.
وفي الغرفة الشرقية، تتراءى الشجرة الرئيسية البالغ ارتفاعها 18 قدمًا، مغطاة بكرات زرقاء وبيضاء وحمراء تُمثل ألوان العلم الأمريكي، ومزينة بشرائط تحمل اقتباسات من إعلان الاستقلال مثل «نحن نعتبر هذه الحقائق بديهية».

The decorations, overseen by a team of interior designers at the White House, included symbolic references to the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776, which is considered the cornerstone of the founding of the United States of America, emphasizing the values of family unity and patriotism in times of political challenges.
The unveiling of the Christmas decorations at the White House is an annual tradition dating back to 1800, when First Lady Abigail Adams lit the first festive lights in the presidential residence. Since then, every First Lady has added her personal touch to the design, inspired by American culture and national values.
During Melania Trump’s tenure (2017-2021), she became known for her classic and elegant designs, such as the main tree adorned with over 1,000 handmade pieces in 2018, which sparked controversy due to its simplicity compared to the extravagance of previous years.
This year, it reflects the theme “The Nation is the Heart,” revealed by the First Lady, showcasing Trump’s vision to strengthen family and national bonds, especially after a campaign likened to a “return to American roots.”
The decorations are built around the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence (July 4, 1776), which was signed by 56 representatives from the original 13 colonies, declaring the United States’ independence from the British crown. This anniversary, set to be celebrated in 2026, presents an opportunity to reaffirm the principles of freedom and democracy amid internal political tensions.
The design includes more than 20 Christmas trees adorned with white LED lights, garlands of natural green leaves, and small statues depicting historical symbols such as the Liberty Bell and the American Eagle, along with family touches like photos of children dressed in 18th-century clothing.
In the East Room, the main tree stands 18 feet tall, covered with blue, white, and red ornaments representing the colors of the American flag, and decorated with ribbons bearing quotes from the Declaration of Independence such as “We hold these truths to be self-evident.”
