صفعة لـ«كارتلات» المخدرات.. البرتغال تضبط غواصة تحمل 100 مليون يورو كوكايين – أخبار السعودية – كورا نيو

أعلنت السلطات البرتغالية، مصادرة غواصة شبه غاطسة، تحمل أكثر من 1.7 طن من الكوكايين، في عملية مشتركة مع وكالات أمريكية وبريطانية، قبالة سواحل البرتغال في منتصف المحيط الأطلسي.

وألقت السلطات القبض على أربعة أعضاء طاقم من جنسيات جنوب أمريكية، وغرقت الغواصة في البحر المفتوح بسبب سوء الأحوال الجوية، ما يُعد أكبر مصادرة من نوعها هذا العام في أوروبا.

وأجرت الشرطة القضائية البرتغالية، والقوات البحرية عملية الاعتقال على بعد نحو 1000 ميل بحري (1852 كم) غرب لشبونة، بناءً على معلومات استخباراتية من مركز التحليل والعمليات البحرية في لشبونة، الذي تلقى إشارات عن إرسال الغواصة من قبل منظمة إجرامية.

ووفقا لفيديوهات نشرتها السلطات، حاصرت سفينة برتغالية الغواصة، وصعدت فرق الشرطة والبحرية إليها لمصادرة الشحنة واعتقال الطاقم.

وفي مؤتمر صحفي، قال رئيس وحدة مكافحة تجارة المخدرات في الشرطة القضائية البرتغالية فيتور أنانياس إن «جنسيات الطاقم المختلفة تظهر أن المنظمة وراءهم ليست مقتصرة على بلد واحد»، مشيرًا إلى الظروف القاسية على متن الغواصة: «بين الحرارة والأبخرة والأمواج العالية، حتى يوم واحد صعب؛ بعد 15 أو 20 يومًا، كل ما تريده هو الخروج».

وأضاف أنانياس أن مثل هذه الحوادث أصبحت «وضعًا متكررًا في السنوات الأخيرة»، كما نقلت وكالة الأنباء البرتغالية.

وغرقت الغواصة في البحر المفتوح بسبب هشاشتها وسوء الطقس، ما حال دون سحبها إلى الشاطئ، إذ كانت متجهة إلى شبه الجزيرة الإيبيرية (البرتغال وإسبانيا).

ودعمت العملية وكالات دولية، بما في ذلك الوكالة الوطنية للجريمة البريطانية، وإدارة مكافحة المخدرات الأمريكية، في إطار جهود مكافحة التهريب عبر المحيط.

ويأتي هذا الإنجاز بعد مصادرة مشابهة في مارس الماضي، إذ أُسقطت غواصة تحمل 6.5 طن قبالة لشبونة على بعد 1200 ميل بحري.

ويجيء الحدث وسط تصاعد الحرب على المخدرات في عهد إدارة الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب الثانية، التي أمرت بضربات عسكرية ضد سفن مخدرات في الكاريبي، بما في ذلك ضربة جوية الأسبوع الماضي أسفرت عن مقتل ثلاثة مهربين، كما أعلن وزير الدفاع الأمريكي بيت هيغسيث.

The Portuguese authorities announced the seizure of a semi-submersible submarine carrying more than 1.7 tons of cocaine in a joint operation with American and British agencies off the coast of Portugal in the mid-Atlantic.

The authorities arrested four crew members of South American nationalities, and the submarine sank in open water due to bad weather, marking the largest seizure of its kind this year in Europe.

The Portuguese judicial police and naval forces conducted the arrest about 1,000 nautical miles (1,852 km) west of Lisbon, based on intelligence information from the Maritime Analysis and Operations Center in Lisbon, which received signals about the submarine being sent by a criminal organization.

According to videos released by the authorities, a Portuguese ship surrounded the submarine, and police and naval teams boarded it to seize the cargo and arrest the crew.

In a press conference, the head of the drug trafficking unit in the Portuguese judicial police, Vitor Ananias, stated that “the different nationalities of the crew show that the organization behind them is not limited to one country,” pointing to the harsh conditions aboard the submarine: “Between the heat, the fumes, and the high waves, even one day is tough; after 15 or 20 days, all you want is to get out.”

Ananias added that such incidents have become “a recurring situation in recent years,” as reported by the Portuguese news agency.

The submarine sank in open water due to its fragility and bad weather, preventing it from being towed to shore, as it was heading to the Iberian Peninsula (Portugal and Spain).

The operation was supported by international agencies, including the British National Crime Agency and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, as part of efforts to combat smuggling across the ocean.

This achievement follows a similar seizure last March, when a submarine carrying 6.5 tons was intercepted off Lisbon, 1,200 nautical miles away.

The event comes amid an escalation in the war on drugs during the second term of U.S. President Donald Trump, who ordered military strikes against drug ships in the Caribbean, including an airstrike last week that resulted in the deaths of three traffickers, as announced by U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
