خلافات قديمة
يذكر أن الخلاف بدأ قبل سنوات عندما سخر باسم يوسف من اسم عمرو مصطفى في برنامجه «البرنامج»، وتكرر الأمر لاحقاً، ما دفع عمرو للرد بأنه لا يرى مجالاً للسخرية في ظل الظروف الصعبة التي تمر بها مصر.
تصعيد الأزمة في 2023
وتفاقم الخلاف في 2023 بعد أن اتهم عمرو باسم بالخيانة العظمى، عقب تقديم الأخير أغنية «وطني حبيبي» بشكل ساخر، معتبراً ذلك إساءة للأوبريت ولرموز الفن المصري، ومهدداً باتخاذ إجراءات قانونية إذا لم تتحرك الجهات المعنية.

It is worth mentioning that the dispute began years ago when Bassem Youssef mocked Amr Mostafa’s name on his show “Al-Barnamaj,” and the situation repeated later, prompting Amr to respond that he saw no room for mockery given the difficult circumstances Egypt was going through.
Escalation of the Crisis in 2023
The dispute escalated in 2023 after Amr accused Bassem of high treason, following the latter’s sarcastic rendition of the song “Watani Habibi,” considering it an insult to the operetta and to the symbols of Egyptian art, and threatening to take legal action if the concerned authorities did not intervene.
