أكد مسؤول أمريكي رفيع المستوى اليوم (الأحد) أن إسرائيل لم تطلع واشنطن مسبقاً على الضربة التي نفذت في الضاحية الجنوبية لبيروت، مؤكداً في تصريحات نقلها موقع «أكسيوس» الإخباري أن الإدارة الأمريكية أُخطرت فقط بعد تنفيذ الغارة مباشرة.
وأشار المسؤول إلى أن الولايات المتحدة كانت تعلم منذ أيام أن إسرائيل تستعد لتصعيد عملياتها العسكرية في لبنان، لكنها لم تكن على علم بموعد أو مكان أو هوية الهدف المرتبط بالضربة التي نفذت اليوم وطالت القيادي العسكري البارز في حزب الله هيثم علي الطبطبائي.
من جهة أخرى، ذكر مسؤولون إسرائيليون للموقع أن الجيش الإسرائيلي استهدف القيادي العسكري البارز في حزب الله هيثم علي الطبطبائي داخل ما وصفوه بـ«منزل آمن» في بيروت، مؤكدين أن طبطبائي يعد الرجل الثاني في التنظيم من حيث الأهمية العملياتية واستهدفه سلاح الجو الإسرائيلي في حارة حريك في بيروت.
وتولى طبطبائي الملقب أيضاً بـ«أبو علي» منصباً قيادياً متقدماً في الحزب، وشغل مسؤوليات عسكرية في سورية واليمن، كما قاد قوات النخبة في حزب الله على مدار السنوات الأخيرة.
وشارك طبطبائي العام الماضي مع محمد حيدر في إعادة تأهيل وتعزيز القدرات العسكرية للحزب، وتعد هذه الغارة الإسرائيلية هي الثالثة لاستهداف موقع طبطبائي.
وتشير المعلومات إلى أن والد طبطبائي إيراني، ووالدته لبنانية، ويقيم في لبنان، وهو مدرج على قائمة المطلوبين لدى الولايات المتحدة، مع مكافأة قدرها 5 ملايين دولار مقابل معلومات تؤدي إلى اعتقاله.
A senior U.S. official confirmed today (Sunday) that Israel did not inform Washington in advance about the strike carried out in the southern suburbs of Beirut, emphasizing in statements reported by the news site “Axios” that the U.S. administration was only notified immediately after the raid was executed.
The official pointed out that the United States had known for days that Israel was preparing to escalate its military operations in Lebanon, but it was not aware of the timing, location, or identity of the target related to the strike carried out today, which targeted the prominent military leader of Hezbollah, Haitham Ali al-Tabtabai.
On the other hand, Israeli officials told the site that the Israeli army targeted the prominent military leader of Hezbollah, Haitham Ali al-Tabtabai, inside what they described as a “safe house” in Beirut, confirming that al-Tabtabai is considered the second most important man in the organization in terms of operational significance and was targeted by the Israeli Air Force in Haret Hreik in Beirut.
Al-Tabtabai, also known as “Abu Ali,” held a senior leadership position in the party and had military responsibilities in Syria and Yemen, as well as leading Hezbollah’s elite forces in recent years.
Last year, al-Tabtabai participated with Mohammad Haidar in rehabilitating and enhancing the military capabilities of the party, and this Israeli raid marks the third attempt to target al-Tabtabai’s location.
Information indicates that al-Tabtabai’s father is Iranian and his mother is Lebanese, and he resides in Lebanon. He is listed on the U.S. wanted list, with a reward of $5 million for information leading to his arrest.
